British International School Ukraine, the only school in Ukraine, which teaches children through the national education programme of England, is expanding its staff team with an opening for position of Assistant Teacher.
We require:
- completed degree of pedagogical or philological education
- English language level of B2 or higher
- experience working with children
- excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentational)
- ability to work in a team
- experience working in a school setting or kindergarten is desirable
Job responsibilities involve:
- ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the students
- maintaining positive attitudes in relation to the students, building relationships with them and managing their behavior as set out by school policy
- supporting the class teacher (a native speaker of English) in all aspects of Primary School Program which is mostly interactive and contains subjects as: ?English ?Basic Mathematics ?Science ?History ?Geography ?Art etc. The learning process takes place exclusively in English, as well as all communication with children
- giving more support to students whose level of English is below the general language level of the students in the class
- carrying out translation and interpretation from English into Ukrainian and vice versa if needed
- assisting with preparation of materials needed for lessons
- working on various activities with fixed groups of students
- participating in record-keeping and assessing students' progress in learning
- communicating with parents
- monitoring and documenting students' progress on a daily basis
