Job Title: Interpreter and Translator (with operational support functions)

Duty Station: Kyiv, on-site work with trips to the field (Kharkiv and Sumy Regions). Full-time position. 

Expected starting date: as soon as possible

Expected end date: 31 October 2026 with possibility of extension 

Reporting Line: Interpreter and Translator reports to the Deputy Head of Mission for Operations

Scope of the Position: The position primarily provides interpretation and translation services to support program activities (including MHPSS and Protection), while also assisting with basic administrative tasks to ensure smooth office and field operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Interpretation & Translation

• Ensure proper and accurate translation of documents, reports, and communication materials from one language to another (EN/UKR/RUS).
• Serve as interpreter at trainings, meetings, conferences and workshops, providing consecutive translation between languages.
• Work closely with various CESVI teams and its partners to provide necessary interpretation services during their regular field visits.
• Accompany CESVI foreign staff on visits to local partners, local public institutions etc. for necessary interpretation services.
• Participate in the organization of field visits, meetings, trainings, workshops, events and other activities and provide translation and interpretation services.
• Ensure confidentiality, especially for sensitive Protection/MHPSS cases.

Procurement and Logistic Support  

• Coordinate procurement of office supplies and services in line with donor policies;
• Maintain inventory of office equipment and assets;
• Organize travel arrangements (tickets, accommodation, visas if needed);
• Support team with correspondence, document collection and archiving;
• Ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements. 
• Perform other related duties as may be assigned.   

Languages:

English, Ukrainian and Russian.

Qualifications:

• Minimum a bachelor's degree in social sciences or equivalent work experience in related field is required.
• University Degree in translation, English language, would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.

Professional experience:

• 1-2 years of relevant working experience in Interpretation and Translation. The selected candidate will be trained in all aspects of logistics/procurement. If you are energetic, analytical, hardworking, honest, and willing to learn, consider applying. 
• Background on mental health terminology or medical vocabulary is an asset. 
• Relevant experience in working with a humanitarian agency or organization, NGO or civil society organization is desirable.
• Experience working with vulnerable groups and providing humanitarian assistance is an advantage.

Skills and Competences:

• Strong writing, reading, and speaking skills in English required.
• Proficiency in Ukrainian and Russian is required.
• Energy, positivity, and a strong willingness to learn while making a positive impact
• Excellent administrative, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
• Flexible, focused, and reliable in an environment of changing demands.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office applications.
