Financial Manager (Cyprus)

The Financial Manager is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, and tax compliance of a Cyprus registered holding (investment) company that owns large manufacturing subsidiaries in Ukraine operating in the juice and beverage industry.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Financial Manager / Accountant in a holding, investment, or international group structure.
• Strong practical knowledge of Cyprus accounting and tax legislation, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, and defence contribution.
• Proven ability to apply Cyprus accounting and tax rules in practice, including day?to?day accounting, tax compliance, and interaction with external advisors.
• Experience working with advisory firms.
• Good understanding of IFRS and corporate finance principles.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent) would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

          1. Accounting and Financial Records (Cyprus):

• Maintain accurate accounting records of the Cyprus holding company in accordance with IFRS and Cyprus statutory requirements.
• Ensure correct accounting treatment of: 
  • Investments in subsidiaries.
  • Intercompany loans and settlements.
  • Dividend income and distributions.
  • Management fees and other intra-group transactions.
• Prepare trial balances, general ledger reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  
  2.  Financial Reporting:
• Prepare periodic management reports for shareholders and the Board of Directors.
• Support the preparation of annual statutory financial statements of the Cyprus holding company.

        3.  Tax Compliance and Advisory Coordination:

• Act as the main point of contact with external tax, legal and accounting advisors (Big Four).
• Coordinate preparation, review, and submission of: 
  • Corporate income tax returns
  • VAT returns 
  • Withholding tax and defence contribution calculations
• Ensure proper documentation and support for transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.

        4. Audit and Corporate Administration:

• Coordinate statutory audits and respond to auditor requests.
• Liaise with corporate service providers on company secretarial and compliance matters.
• Support compliance with Cyprus substance

        5. Banking and Treasury Support:

• Support bank account administration and payment processing.
• Monitor cash balances, dividend receipts, and intercompany cash flows.
• Assist with bank communications, compliance questionnaires, and KYC updates.

       6. Cross-Border Coordination:

• Cooperate with finance teams of Ukrainian operating subsidiaries.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial information between the holding company and subsidiaries.
• Support cross-border dividend distributions and financial flows.
