Legal counsel

We seek an experienced legal counselor with a background in international corporate, commercial, and tax law. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting legislative and regulatory documents, such as commercial contracts and internal policies, and demonstrate exceptional communication and self-organization abilities. Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures is a big plus. Previous experience in the IT sector is highly advantageous.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of and experience in international corporate, commercial, and tax law;
• Experience in drafting legislative and other regulatory acts, position papers;
• Good communication and self-organization skills;
• Knowledge of AML procedures;
• English level: B2/C1;
• Previous work in the IT and the technological sector is an advantage;

Responsibilities:

• Drafting and revising commercial contracts, internal policies, and other legal documents;
• Assisting with research and analysis of potential legal risks in the company’s jurisdictions of operations;
• Assisting with the implementation of legal Compliance in the various areas of business operations (data protection, marketing, payment, consumer rights, etc.);
• Assisting the head of Compliance with implementing and tailoring the compliance program for Spendbase;
• Provide ongoing support for KYC / KYB checks to ensure adherence to AML regulations, onboarding requirements, Third Party Due Diligence, and Payment compliance guidelines and procedures;
• Supporting day-to-day legal activities and operations of the company and team;
• Communicating with business partners, law firms, and service providers from various jurisdictions.

Nice to have:

• B2/C1 in English, including proficiency in legal drafting.
• 1-2+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of AML procedures is a significant advantage.
• Strong background in law.
• Quick to learn and adapt. 
• A keen eye for detail.
• Proactive and eager to work on various legal matters, with a creative approach to solving diverse legal challenges.
