Job overview

The representative office of the registered association humedica in Ukraine within the implementation of a 6-month humanitarian project funded by the Government of the Free State of Bavaria (Germany) announces the search for candidates for the vacancy of a Project Officer

Responsibilities  

• Oversee the direct execution of project activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines and donor requirements, in line with humedica and donor project cycle processes and standards.
• Collaborate with the Mobile Medical Units to develop and carry out project activities based on the approved Implementation Plan.
• Make regular visits to project areas to monitor activities, assess opportunities and challenges, and provide recommendations or adjustments, including identifying staff capacity-building needs.
• Keep management informed with regular updates on project progress, priorities, and any challenges faced.
• Work closely with program and finance teams to ensure timely submission of high-quality reports that meet the standards and requirements of both humedica and donors.
• Ensure project staff are informed about donor communication and visibility requirements.
• Represent humedica at both internal and external meetings, forums, and events, promoting the organization’s visibility and brand.
• Ensure the enforcement of humedica’s policies on PSEAH, Complaints, Gender, and Inclusion, and report all instances of abuse. Collaborate with project staff to ensure safeguarding protocols and procedures are implemented.
•  Supervise and guide the implementation of the project, making necessary adjustments to work plans and logical frameworks as needed.
• Ensure that agreed roles and responsibilities among project stakeholders are effectively managed and fulfilled.
• Monitor project activities in relation to media visibility.
• Establish and maintain effective communication channels, both internally and externally.
• Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager or Head of Programmes.

Required Knowledge

• A university degree in a relevant field, such as social studies, project management, health, or similar.
• Proven experience working with both international and local NGOs.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating projects funded by international donors.
• Strong understanding of the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) and humanitarian principles.
• Experience in managing and coordinating projects in areas such as healthcare assistance, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), social protection, gender equality, and inclusion is an advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required Competencies

• Exceptional strategic decision-making and communication abilities, including skills in reporting and presenting to a variety of stakeholders.
• Good level in written and spoken English and Ukrainian.
• Proven teamwork, coordination, and planning skills.
• Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access) and communication tools (Teams, email).
• Strong time management capabilities, with the ability to thrive under pressure.
