LED Trucking Inc., managed by Sacramento Managing Company, is seeking a highly detail-oriented and operationally disciplined Accounts Payable Specialist (Independent Contractor) to support financial operations with a primary focus on driver settlements, transaction processing, and account reconciliation. This role is structured as an independent contractor engagement and is responsible for delivering defined financial and operational outputs within a high-volume, asset-based transportation environment. The contractor will operate with a high level of autonomy while adhering to company-defined processes, timelines, and quality standards. The position reports functionally to the Head of Finance Division for workflow alignment and deliverables oversight.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform end-to-end driver settlement calculations in accordance with company policies and contractual structures
Manage communication with drivers regarding settlement inquiries, discrepancies, and issue resolution
Enter and maintain financial transactions within QuickBooks and TMS systems with a high degree of accuracy
Execute account control functions including transaction matching, verification, and closing of accounts
Maintain categorization and documentation of financial transactions in compliance with internal standards
Prepare and provide reports related to settlements, account activity, and financial records upon request
Identify discrepancies, escalate issues, and support resolution across Finance and Operations
Maintain audit-ready documentation and comply with internal financial controls and procedures
Perform additional accounting-related tasks tied to settlements and financial recordkeeping as required
All other duties, as assigned
Talent Requirements:
Minimum of two (2) years prior experience in accounts payable, accounting operations, or financial administration (transportation/logistics preferred)
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and transactional accounting processes
Experience with TMS platforms and high-volume financial environments preferred
High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under volume
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet defined deadlines
Effective communication skills, particularly in handling driver-facing financial discussions
Ability to independently manage workload while adhering to defined processes and KPIs
Contractor must maintain their own work environment, equipment, and connectivity
Strong general business acumen
Able to demonstrate professional phone etiquette
Demonstrate a high customer service commitment
Strong analytical skills – ability to assess, design, and sell a given solution
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under pressure in a fast paced environment
