arche noVa - Initiative for People in Need is a religiously independent non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Dresden, Germany, working in the field of humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and development. Since 2016, arche noVa has been active in Ukraine, supporting the affected population in Donetska and Luhanska oblasts. With the full-scale war outbreak in February 2022, arche noVa has expanded its relief program in Ukraine, responding to the unprecedented humanitarian crisis. The war has shown no signs of abating and continues to drive increasing humanitarian needs across the country, affecting all spheres of life and uprooting millions of Ukrainians. It has resulted in civilian casualties that continue to grow and significant damage to infrastructure.
For the implementation of the arche noVa relief measures, we are looking for a Finance Assistant (national position)
Duration: 12 months with the possibility of an extension
Position to be filled: asap
Duty station: city of Kyiv
Contract: labour, with one month of a probation period
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Finance & Administration Coordinator (F&AC) and other team members in daily processes and tasks
- Collect supporting documents, review for completeness and accuracy, prepare payment vouchers and submit for review and approval
- Be responsible for copying, scanning, filing and maintaining of accounting and finance records, reports and other documents in a proper and sequential manner, including processing correspondence
- Processing other documents including financial, procurement, logistics and others ensuring compliance with donors' guidelines, arche noVa internal regulations and Ukrainian legislation
- Translating from English into Ukrainian and vice versa upon request
- Performing other relevant duties as and when required
Requirements:
- Degree/certificate in finances or other relevant areas
- At least 2 years of demonstrated relevant experience
- Background in accounting and/or finances is preferable
- Experience in working with a large amount of documentation, checking its completeness and correctness
- Strong computer skills, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Good command of Ukrainian and English (both written and spoken) is preferred
- Ability to work in a team
- Strong self-organisational skills
- Ability to work under stress
