Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Broker to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in freight brokerage, a proven ability to negotiate effectively, and a customer-focused approach. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Cold Calling and Lead Generation: Proactively reach out to potential shippers and carriers to generate new business opportunities and establish initial contact.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture lasting relationships with shippers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure repeat business and trust.
- Rate Negotiation: Skillfully negotiate competitive rates with carriers while maximizing profitability and meeting client expectations.
- Load Coordination: Oversee the entire shipment lifecycle, including load booking, pickup, delivery, and issue resolution.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve unexpected challenges, such as delays, carrier shortages, or client concerns, with professionalism and efficiency.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all contracts, paperwork, and regulatory requirements are met and filed accurately.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, carrier capacity, and market pricing to offer strategic solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with dispatchers, operations, and other team members to deliver seamless service.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a freight broker in the logistics industry.
- Proven success in negotiating rates and coordinating shipments.
- Hard Skills:
- Proficiency in freight management software and industry-specific tools.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. freight regulations and compliance requirements.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
