Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Purpose of Role:

Support and development of Amway high level business reputation by representing the interests in scientific centers and authorities in Ukraine. 

Comprehensive independent assessment and determination of the corporate products and services quality level of conformity to the National and European standards.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Support and development of Amway high level business reputation by representing the interests in scientific centers and authorities in Ukraine. 
• Comprehensive independent assessment and determination of the corporate products and services quality level of conformity to the National and European standards.
• Properly certify and register Amway Nutrition for importation and sale in assigned region.  
• Work with Headquarters and certification lab staff collaboratively as a team member.  
• Knowledge of standards in the following area:
• National and Subnational Nutrition regulatory standards (Technical regulations) in Ukraine
• Basic Nutrition regulatory knowledge of European regulation
• Monitoring changes in regulation and determining potential risks for import and marketing of Nutrition products sold by Amway. Ensuring that any potential risks are escalated through the right channels and resolved in a timely manner to avoid impact to product sales in Ukraine.
• Providing dossier on product certification of the Amway products in Ukraine as required per local legislation.
• Checking and approving artworks in accordance with requirements of the Ukrainian technical legislation.
• Preparing regular progress reports.
• Consulting and support to departments of Amway about product questions.
• Back-up for the Regulatory Affairs Specialist for Home and Beauty categories during absence to ensure business continuance.
• Takes responsibility in supporting Customer Service and Sales Department on any related technical questions from customers for Amway products ensuring alignment with departments such as Marketing, Legal, etc.
• Involvement in activities aimed at protecting the interests of Amway during scheduled and unscheduled inspections of products by state authorities, preparing documentation, arranging internal and external examination of goods (if necessary and at the request of government agencies), coordinating activities with technical regulation specialists, marketing, lawyers and other departments.
• Proactively monitors activities for current and future business opportunities/threats; impacting our ability to sell and market products and solution technologies long-term.
• Coordinates intelligence gathering by identifying and summarizing trends and analyzing threats and opportunities; provides analysis and impact assessment of current and developing regulations
• Enhances corporate credibility and expands/protects enterprise access to the marketplace by leveraging key internal/external relationships 
• Partners with corporate counterparts to develop regulatory policy and intelligence, lobbying strategies and to ensure strategies/activities are aligned with corporate business plans and identified risks or opportunities
• Develops and manages the strategy, budget and progress toward stated goals for assigned lobbying efforts
• Plans and coordinates regional or global regulatory activities with associations, non-government organizations (NGOs), third party manufacturers, standardization bodies, governmental advisors and scientific cooperation partners 
• Supporting productive relations with employees at the headquarters in USA, with employees of other subsidiary companies in Europe, and with state and other institutions and organizations that regulate Amway product quality and safety.
• Timely informing of marketing departments on ongoing changes relating to the Amway product.
• Establishes sound communication and working relationships within I&S, corporate personnel in the headquarters, as well as with all other company affiliate personnel, suppliers, consultants, legal counsels, public and government agencies; in general, strives to uphold a professional stance in representation of the Company at all times.
• Protects the company’s proprietary information by ensuring confidential information is not released to individuals, except on a need-to-know basis and if properly covered with appropriate confidentiality agreements. Makes sure that said agreements are executed in a timely manner and assumes responsibility for their execution.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Nutrition regulatory environment 
• BS degree in Nutrition, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or a related technical discipline
• Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance with Nutrition, interpreting regulatory issues 
• Talent to read and interpret the impact of regulatory changes for appliances 
• Talent to communicate across cultures, with the ability to influence stakeholders 
• Command of English – upper-intermediate
• Knowledge of Microsoft suite, Siemens Teamcenter a plus
• Project management experience helpful
• Good in communicating and presenting technical data (both verbally and written) to influence multiple audiences in English and relevant market language
• Accurately processes, documents and provides timely information 
• First experience in the use of related analytical or scientific software, databases and applications to include use of typical office suite software packages would be beneficial
• Strong interpersonal skills are a must
