
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head Production Planning Manager to lead and optimize the production planning function at our cluster (UA & MD). This role will be responsible for managing multi-line production scheduling, leading the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process locally, and contributing to Group-level planning initiatives. The candidate will also analyze production and demand data to identify optimization opportunities across the plants and the Group.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process at plant level, aligning production capacity, inventory targets, and customer demand.
- Develop and manage detailed production schedules for multiple glass production lines.
- Supervise direct reports – Planning Specialists.
- Report to Head of Supply Chain (UA & MD) and Group Planning Manager in Switzerland.
- Be an active member of the Group Planning Team, collaborating on cross-plant demand and production balancing.
- Perform regular analysis of Group demand and production plans to:
- Maximize Available-to-Promise (ATP).
- Optimize furnace and line utilization.
- Reduce changeover counts while maintaining service levels.
- Identify and propose planning optimization opportunities at both plant and Group level.
- Track and report KPIs related to planning accuracy, line efficiency, ATP performance, and schedule adherence.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel tools for planning and scenario analysis.
Required qualifications
- Proven experience in multi-line production planning in a manufacturing environment (glass industry preferred).
- Strong experience with S&OP processes and cross-functional coordination.
- Excellent analytical skills and understanding of production constraints and planning logic.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Advanced PC literacy, especially in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, scenarios, macros).
- English proficiency at minimum B2 level (speaking and writing).
- University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
Preferred qualifications (optional)
- Experience in glass container production or FMCG sectors.
- APICS / CPIM or similar supply chain certification.
