Functional Responsibilities
 
 UNOPS is seeking a GESI/PSEAH Officer with experience in the field of gender and social inclusion (GESI) & protection from sexual exploitation, abuse and sexual harassment (PSEAH). The selected candidate will work on GESI/PSEAH with a coordinated approach. S/he will ensure that both GESI and PSEAH 2025 Action Plans are implemented and will conduct a wide range of activities, as stated in the below requirements.
 
 In order to show the highest commitment and independence of PSEAH measures within the Country Office, the GESI/PSEAH Officer will be reporting to the Head of Programmes (deputy Country Director).
 
 In line with UNOPS policies and guidelines, the GESI/PSEAH Officer will perform various tasks and provide vital technical inputs to all activities pertaining to GESI and PSEAH in Ukraine.
 
 GESI technical support:

 •Under the guidance of the supervisor and in close collaboration with the GESI Focal Points of the Office, and  the Regional GESI Focal Point, coordinate  the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the GESI Action Plan for 2025, Create, and update at regular intervals  a context-specific factsheet/country profile on gender, using existing resources (UNCT, NGOs, academia) to help in rapid assessment of projects.
 •Map current GESI mainstreaming initiatives in projects, identify strategic gaps, and make recommendations.
 •Nurture a network of GESI Focal Points in Ukraine + Moldova to promote the exchange of ideas, coordinate the implementation of the Action Plans, and facilitate discussions around relevant issues.
 •Identify gaps and training needs and support capacity building activities for all personnel, to strengthen their capacities to mainstream GESI in the design, planning, monitoring and implementation of projects.
 •Support the roll-out of internal and general UN advocacy/sensibilization/awareness raising campaigns.
 •Increase consultations with women led-organizations, sharing regular feedback and information on activities and projects, and striving for more involvement of women-led organizations receiving funding from UNOPS.
 •Actively participate in internal and external meetings, workshops and working groups on GESI, as relevant, and increase and reinforce in-country partnerships with UNCT and key partners (UNWOMEN, UNICEF, UNDP, etc).

Education/Experience/Language requirements
 
 Education:

 
 •Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience preferably in social work, social sciences, gender, international development, public management and administration or other relevant related field, OR
 •Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience preferably in social work, social sciences, gender, international development, public management and administration or other relevant related fields is required
 
 Experience:

 •Minimum two years of experience in any of the following areas (including a combination): prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, gender, gender-based violence, sexual harassment, protection or workplace conduct is required.
 •At least 1 year of experience in developing and facilitating training and capacity-building activities is required.
 •At least 1 year of familiarity with data protection and confidentiality measures is required.
 •Understanding of the humanitarian sector is an advantage.
 •Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills are an advantage.
 •Previous involvement with and knowledge of the UN system would be an advantage.
 •Previous involvement with and/or experience working with government, international Non-Governmental Organizations and Local Civil Society Organizations in Ukraine is an advantage.
 
 Language:

Fluency in English (read, write and speak) is required

 Contract level: LICA 9
 Contract duration: Open-ended, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds and satisfactory performance
