MdM is an international humanitarian organization whose mission is to provide medical care for the most vulnerable populations in the world over. It seeks to stimulate voluntary commitment from doctors, other health care providers, and from those whose expertise in other fields is needed for its activities, to enlist all competent support required for the achievement of its projects, and to seek at all times to encourage close working relationships with populations in its care. In Ukraine, MdM Spain implements the project activities in close cooperation with the relevant authorities, public health facilities and communities.
MdM has been operating in Ukraine since August 2015 and is currently implementing an emergency response and recovery program in different regions in Ukraine. The program is implemented around two main components: direct consumables, of services through multidisciplinary mobile units (including primary healthcare services (PHC), sexual and reproductive health (SRH), Mental Health and Psychosocial support services (MHPSS)); and strengthening of local health system (with a specific focus on PHC, SRH, MHPSS and GBV) through capacity building of health and non-health staff, awareness raising and the provision of medical equipment, consumables and medicines.
Objective of the position:
The Logistics Coordinator will implement and supervise all logistics operations and teams all across Ukraine. He/she will organize logistic support for programs, in keeping with MDM policies
Geneal Objectives:
- Lead logistics strategy of the MdM mission in Ukraine, aligning it with the objectives defined in the General Strategic Plan
- Lead supply chain flow and make sure it aligns with MDM and donors’ policies.
- Lead procurement within the mission through MRs, purchase orders and tenders’ protocols.
- Create and Oversee procurement plans per donor once grants are awarded.
- Create and oversee movement plans within the organization on a weekly basis.
- Make sure all logistics and procurement documents are archived as per MDM and donors’ requirements.
- Support the implementation of the security measures that stem from the Security Risk Analysis
- Lead any rehabilitation and maintenance contracts.
- Identify and propose solutions to situations of overload of work of the logistic team. Replace or reinforce the team if needed.
- Manage logistic teams across the mission.
- Make sure MDM warehouses within the standard and good practice approach.
- Oversee logistics department budget and provide estimates to grans and finance coordinator when required
- Make sure all mission IT equipment in order .
- Update assets management policy and asset trackers .
- produce monthly reporting.
Relations:
- Maintains full cooperation with other MdM departments (medical, administration, HR, etc)
- Organizing log team to support the Med, HR and Admin/Fin departments
- Participates in the elaboration of the Budgets of the mission
- Collaborates in the Budget Follow Up exercise .
- Collaborates with security coordinator and implement security measures within the mission
- Cooperates with HR in the identification of the related logistic team needs.
- Maintain relations with the various national and international actors (companies or NGOs): providers in order to facilitate transportation, procurement, storage, and distribution
- Keep HQ logistics department updated with mission related issues .
- Actively participate in external logistics meetings on behalf of MDM including but not limited to logistics clusters .

Position and profile requirements:
- Educational background
- University degree in related field from an accredited academic institution.
- Professional experience
- 5 years + progressive experience in logistics /procurement or related field
- Technical experience
- Supply chain, SharePoint
Personal skills
- Excellent skills in communication.
- Familiarity with INGO’s
- Adopt to a fast environment, and quick learner.
- Team player with a great stress management self-coping mechanism
- Attentive to details
- Able to work under pressure
Humanitarian experience
- 2 years of relevant professional experience in NGOs preferred.
- Languages
- English, Ukrainian
- Computer skills
- MS Office environment with strong Word and Excel Skills
