Chief Accountant with Finance Manager’s Function

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Accountant with Finance Manager’s Function for one of our clients, a fast-growing start-up in the pharmaceutical industry

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implementation of Accounting System:

•  Select and implement accounting software that meets the company's needs.
•  Set up the system to ensure accurate and efficient data entry.

2. Financial Reporting:

• Develop financial report templates in line with legislative requirements and internal company standards.
• Prepare the initial set of financial reports for management and investors.

3. Establishing Accounting Procedures:

• Develop and document key accounting procedures, including expense tracking, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Implement these procedures and train staff accordingly.

4. Tax Planning and Reporting:

•  Establish the process for preparing and filing tax returns.
•  Ensure that tax procedures comply with legal requirements.

5. Budgeting and Financial Planning:

• Develop the company’s first budget, including revenue and expense forecasts.
• Implement a system to monitor and control budget performance.

6. Internal Control System:

• Design and implement an internal control system to prevent errors and fraud.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to established procedures.

7. Cash Flow Management:

• Set up a process for managing cash flows to maintain sufficient liquidity.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and analyze performance.

8.  Interaction with Banks and Investors:

• Establish and maintain relationships with banks for account opening and managing banking operations.
• Prepare financial information for potential investors and creditors.

9. Compliance with Legislation:

• Continuously monitor changes in tax and financial legislation.
• Ensure full compliance with legal requirements in the company’s activities.

10. Audit Preparation:

• Organize the preparation of all necessary documentation for future internal and external audits.
• Develop an action plan to address potential auditor remarks and recommendations.

Key requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of successful experience as Chief accountant, experience in fulfilling finance manager’s function 

• Excellent knowledge of statutory accounting standards and requirements as well as IFRS standards

• Strong understanding of tax and accounting legislation.

• Experience in preparing financial and tax reports.

• Experience with VAT invoice registration and VAT return submission

• Strong knowledge of incoterms

• Good understanding of labor legislation

• English at upper-intermediate level
