Project HOPE in Ukraine Private Funded Program Portfolio is focused on next major components:

• Equipment, Pharma, Medical Supply for Primary, Secondary and Tertiary health facilities 
• Capacity building for the health care workers including specialized training programs.
• Support in renovation of Health care facilities and other crucial community facilities to strengthen community resilience and decrease workload on other health facilities. 
• Improving IPC/WASH standards within Health Facilities and facilities serving affected population
• Supporting establishment of Mobile Medical Units with Ukraine Health system to establish better access to healthcare services to affected populations and vulnerable groups. 
• Strengthening community cohesion and resilience with big influx of IDPs
• MHPSS support to health care workers and affected population and vulnerable groups
• Emergency Response to healthcare needs in case of crisis escalation   

Position Purpose 

Communications Officer is to support the Communications Department in coordination with Programs and Operations colleagues in assigned Ukraine Country Office in improving the presence of Project HOPE in Ukraine on social media, media, external reporting, storytelling and communication with stakeholders 

Main Responsibilities

• Create compelling content across various platforms, including website articles, blog posts, impact stories, social media updates, newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.
• Develop and execute social media strategies to increase the organization's online presence and engagement. This includes managing social media accounts, crafting posts, responding to comments, and analyzing metrics to optimize performance.
• Support in developing communications plans, content plans, and branding and marketing plans.
• Participate in business trips to areas of operation to gather content, conduct interviews, and communicate with stakeholders.
• Cultivate relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure coverage for the organization's initiatives, events, and campaigns. This involves drafting press releases, pitching stories, and coordinating interviews.
• Work closely with other departments, including program teams, fundraising, and advocacy, to align communications efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
• Support the Communications Manager with day-to-day tasks related to communications, media, reporting, visibility, and storytelling.

Educational background: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism/or other relevant field.

Years of Experience:  

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications or marketing
• Previous experience in the humanitarian, development, or environmental fields is beneficial.
• Proven experience in writing, copyediting, and drafting high-quality articles, presentations, and posts in both Ukrainian and English.
• Effective digital communications experience and understanding of relevant tools

Language Skills : Fluency in English and Ukrainian and excellent writing skills for written communication targeting a variety of audiences.
