As we expand our operations in Ukraine and globally, we are seeking a strategic and experienced Country Director to lead our efforts in Ukraine in establishing a strong market presence and ensuring operational readiness.

Position Overview:

The Country Director will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for leading all aspects of FortuneGuard’s business operations in Ukraine. This role is critical in ensuring that the company secures necessary licensing, develops key insurance products, and is fully prepared for market entry within 4-6 months. The Country Director will assemble and lead a high-performance team while driving the company’s strategic vision and market growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Licensing and Regulatory Compliance:
   • Lead the preparation and submission of all required documentation to secure full licensing from the National Bank of Ukraine.
   • Assemble a core team, including a Chief Risk Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, Senior Actuary, and Chief Internal Auditor, within the first month.
2. Product Development:
   • Develop and finalize two key insurance products targeted at medium and large enterprises.
   • Establish and oversee comprehensive operational processes for underwriting, client onboarding, and claims management.
3. Market Readiness and Entry:
   • Ensure that FortuneGuard is fully prepared to enter the market.
   • Finalize all client contracts, due diligence processes, and sales strategies to enable immediate market entry.
   • Capture a significant share of the Ukrainian war risk insurance market within the first year post-licensing.
4. Team Leadership and Development:
   • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performance team aligned with FortuneGuard’s strategic goals.
   • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation to drive operational success and market growth.
5. Risk Management:
   • Ensure robust risk management practices are in place, working closely with the Chief Risk Officer to mitigate potential risks and proactively address challenges.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in the insurance industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and growing insurance operations.
• In-depth knowledge of the Ukrainian insurance market and regulatory environment.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in Ukrainian and English is required.
