Estonian Refugee Council (ERC) is a value-driven non-governmental EU-certified humanitarian organization. ERC was established 22 years ago in Estonia and currently provides humanitarian assistance to displaced people and other vulnerable people in 5 crisis-affected countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Jordan and Turkey) and different support services to beneficiaries of international protection in Estonia. Estonian Refugee Council works and provide help in Ukraine since 2014 year and now covered 9 regions with ongoing humanitarian projects and monitoring visits. Our Mission is to stand for the rights and well-being of refugees and other vulnerable groups in Ukraine and abroad.
An IT Assistant is a member of the ERC’s support team and is responsible for ERC’s IT development. The post holder will ensure that ERC has well-developed IT infrastructure and online interfaces and offers general IT support and consultations on IT/data security to ERC’s staff in Ukraine. At the request of the line manager the position-holder will set up networks, update software and hardware and implement a data security system on all ERC’s staff computers and other hardware used for daily operations.
We are looking for IT Assistant to join our international team!
Main tasks:
- Ensure compliance of ERC’s IT infrastructure and online interfaces with data protection and privacy regulations.
- Install and configure IT hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners for ERC’s offices and staff in Ukraine.
- Make sure printers are working and all users are connected to them, regularly monitoring MFPs for consumables and errors.
- Provide technical support across the organization (including Dnipro, Zaporizhia). Provide IT support to the ERC teams remotely (via telephone, Skype, WhatsApp or Anydesk), make temporary visits to different bases of ERC for occasional IT support of local teams.
- Make suggestions to the line manager for maintaining or replacing equipment if necessary.
- Provide guidance to staff on best practices for cyber hygiene and data security, such as the regular updating of passwords and safeguarding sensitive information.
- Provide troubleshooting for connectivity or performance issues.
- Oversee day-to-day technical relationships with internet service providers and other technology vendors, ensuring reliable service and addressing any issues as they arise
- Act as the primary focal point/intermediary between HQ and the mission on all IT related rollouts.
- Act as the focal point for Binotel services, providing installation support and consulting staff on its effective use.
- Perform any additional tasks as required by ERC to ensure the organization’s operations run smoothly and efficiently
Expectations towards the candidate:
- Higher education degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Computer engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent working experience.
- At least 3 years' experience in a relevant field
- Fluency in Ukrainian is required; proficiency in English is preferred
- Strong understanding of IT and data security best practices
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Capable of performing basic hardware maintenance, such as replacing internal power supplies and troubleshooting internet connectivity issues.
- Ability to foster and maintain a productive and secure working environment in alignment with the ERC Code of Conduct
