Role Overview
Working across procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and commissioning, the QC/QA Engineer will play a critical role in maintaining operational readiness, ensuring compliance, and enabling successful project delivery of "special" trucks.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail?oriented, and experienced in managing technical quality functions in dynamic, multicultural environments.
Applicants must be willing and able to work in Kyiv, Ukraine with weekly sitevisits. An initial assignment duration of 200 days, subject to possible extension.
Expected Duties and Responsibilities
The QC/QA Engineer will be responsible for the following:
1. Quality Assurance & Documentation
- Develop and implement QA/QC procedures aligned with UA regulations and donor compliance requirements.
- Maintain layered documentation: conformity certificates, FAT reports, assembly completion certificates.
- Ensure audit?ready records for all deliveries and commissioning milestones.
2. Manufacturing Oversight
- Monitor assembly process at the production facility located approximately 25 km from Kyiv center.
- Conduct weekly site visits to verify assembly progress and compliance with technical specifications (water tanks, frames, pump systems, Euro?6 engine).
- Validate factory acceptance test results and serial?level inspections for all nine fire trucks.
3. Logistics & Commissioning QA
- Verify offload, commissioning, and operator training against agreed milestones.
- Ensure acceptance certificates and commissioning reports are complete and compliant.
4. Compliance & Risk Mitigation
- Ensure importer?of?record sequencing protects the client from tax or liability exposure.
- Conduct sanctions screening and compliance checks on suppliers.
5. Warranty & After?Sales Support
- Track warranty activation and claims (superstructure, tank, chassis).
- Coordinate with local service centers and dealer networks to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain warranty documentation and audit trail of service reports.
6. Reporting & Monitoring
- Prepare weekly site visit reports documenting assembly progress, QA/QC findings, and compliance status.
- Submit consolidated monthly QA/QC reports covering manufacturing, logistics, commissioning, and warranty activities.
- Provide immediate escalation reports in case of non?conformities or compliance risks.
- Conduct daily monitoring of air raid alerts in Kyiv and Kyiv oblast to assess potential impacts on site visits, logistics, and project safety.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive, or related engineering field.
- At least 3 years of QC/QA experience in heavy equipment, automotive, or defense procurement.
- Familiarity with FAR, ITA frameworks, and Ukrainian regulatory environment.
- Certifications in ISO 9001, OSHA safety, or equivalent in technical field will be beneficial.
- Strong documentation and audit?readiness skills.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication abilities.
- Written and spoken fluency in Ukrainian and English.
