Consultancy Description

The Occupational Therapy Specialization Consultant (OT Specialization Consultant) will support activities related to developing methodological guidelines (a manual) for organizing and conducting specialization courses for occupational therapy practitioners to standardize specialization programs among educational institutions that offer these programs. The final document will be presented to the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for its subsequent approval.

Detailed Responsibilities

The OT Specialization Consultant shall assume the following specific responsibilities for the length of the consultancy:

Development of the methodological guidelines (a manual) for specialization courses for OT practitioners.

• Analyse national regulations and international practices regarding OT entry-level programs, including national higher education standards. 
• Hold meetings with stakeholders, notably the Ukraine Society of Ergotherapists (USET), to agree on the document framework. 
• Develop the draft manual.
• Disseminate the draft manual to the relevant stakeholders, notably USET, and integrate changes, if needed.
• Finalize the manual for organizing and conducting specialization courses for OT practitioners.

Communication and collaboration

• Permanently communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, notably USET, in the manual development process.
• Coordinate efforts with the OT Technical Specialist and OT Workforce Development Consultant, if relevant.
• Timely inform the OT Technical Specialist about the progress and challenges in developing the manual for organizing and conducting specialization courses for OT practitioners.

Expected Deliverables

By March 2025, develop and share the draft manual for organizing and conducting specialization courses for OT practitioners with the OT Technical Specialist.

By April 2025, develop and share the final manual for organizing and conducting specialization courses for OT practitioners with the OT Technical Specialist.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Master`s degree in Occupational Therapy
• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in the occupational therapy field.
• Strong understanding of the Ukrainian healthcare and rehabilitation sectors and international best practices.
• Membership in the Ukraine Society of Ergotherapists.
• Fluency in Ukrainian, intermediate level in English
