For our client, an international company that has been operating for 5 years in Ukraine's renewable energy sector, is rapidly growing, and currently owns one of the largest portfolios of solar and wind power plants in Ukraine, we are looking for Head of construction.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Managing a portfolio of construction projects (renewable power plants construction)
- Coordinating internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule, quality, and budget
- Managing the selection of equipment and contractors for each project
- Selecting and managing construction teams
- Planning and optimizing resources
- Managing communication flows for projects
Job Duties:
- Developing budgets for projects and portfolios, managing actual and forecasted costs
- Managing project and portfolio schedules, taking into account dependencies and resource requirements
- Developing, maintaining, and applying quality management processes
- Compiling, structuring, and monitoring project scope status
- Managing site teams: internal project team, supplier's supervision team, contractors
- Managing project and portfolio reporting, verifying information, and delivering it to stakeholders
- Communicating with stakeholders to ensure the team is informed and up-to-date on project status
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in technical disciplines (energy/construction industry)
- Advanced level of English, fluent verbal and written communication skills
Hard Skills:
- Project management skills, knowledge of project management methodologies
- Scope, cost, schedule, and quality control skills – ability to develop, deploy, and maintain necessary tools and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of construction norms, standards, and regulations
- Extensive knowledge of norms and regulations in the electrical energy sector
- Experience with engineering and project management software tools (AutoCAD, MS Project, MS Office)
- Proven experience in industrial construction projects; experience in renewables is an advantage
Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills
- Self-driven, with the ability to work autonomously and independently
- Able to solve problems strategically, with an understanding of clients' needs, expectations, and priorities
- Good at negotiating and presenting positions to various stakeholders
- Able and willing to challenge, provide feedback, and suggest solutions for improvements
- Mentoring and training project teams
- Ability to work under time pressure with multiple tasks
- Dedicated team player with strong people and presentation skills
