Java Architect

Infopulse is inviting a talented professional to join our growing team as a Java Architect in a Telecom Team for our respectful client BICS.

As a Java Technical Architect, you will lead the development and management of technical solutions, including cloud, mobile, and edge computing, to drive the organization's future-state business capabilities and outcomes. You will provide leadership and hands-on expertise in designing the enterprise's technical application architecture and creating deliverables to manage the portfolio of current and future solutions.

Areas of Responsibility

• Works with peers (e.g., Java team leads, IT business analysts, Cloud and Infrastructure Architects, Data and security Architects) and Product Owners to analyze enterprise business context (business strategy and trends), as well as change requirements in other enterprise architecture viewpoints (such as business, information, and solution) to derive the future-state technology architecture. This includes defining the requirements, principles, and models that guide technology decisions for the enterprise
• Leads the analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement keeping technological trends and the Open Source approach in perspective
• Supports product owners in end-of-life product decisions to maintain, refresh, or retire services, or systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information
• Supports Team lead (mostly Java) in their day-to-day technical challenges. Coaches, mentors, and collaborates with Senior developers.
• Drives digital innovation by leveraging innovative technologies and approaches to renovate, extend, and transform the existing core technology base and IT estate
• Defines high-level migration plans to address the gaps between the future and current state, typically in sync with IT budgeting or other capital planning processes
• Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations
• Leads evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of a solution architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies
• Acts as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms, and vendor offerings to drive targeted business outcomes
• Creates architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects, and systems, including applications, technologies, processes, and information
• Leads a project execution or POC whenever required
• Defines the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision
• Provides consulting support to application architects within agile teams to ensure the project or product is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of commercial Java development experience
• Proven experience in making architectural decision 
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies, platforms, and processing environments
• Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models
• Experience with Java frameworks (e.g. Spring/SpringBoot/Hibernate) 
• Knowledge of various database technologies (e.g. Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB) 
• Knowledge of various aspects of a technology architecture like integration, network and security
• Knowledge of interoperability technology (REST/SOAP web services, message-oriented middleware, service-oriented bus, event architecture)
• Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies and concepts (e.g. waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, CI/CD concepts and DevOps)
• Good understanding of security, scalability, concurrency, HA aspects of the software at source
• Exposure to performance optimizations on DB, queues and application level. Help build sustainable environments and test data for various test needs (soak, load, PEN, smoke)
• Ability to work with developers in an outsourced environment

Will be an advantage

• Architect or Tech Lead experience
• Knowledge of frontend web development languages (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS) 
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study
• Hands on experience with API management platform, Content Management System
• Exposure to working with DevOps teams

Personal skills

• At least Upper Intermediate level of English
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Skilled at influencing, guiding and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making
• Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
• Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
