About the job
The ICRC Health Unit (Mental Health Unit) is seeking a competent Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Field Officer (Psychologist) to join our team in Kyiv. The MHPSS Field Officer (Psychologist) is responsible for implementing MHPSS activities in collaboration with the relevant coordinator at the local and national level, providing direct support to victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence, and training, supervising, and coaching others to do so.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Support and lead the development and implementation of impactful MHPSS initiatives at local and national levels, shaping programs that make a real difference for individuals and communities.
- Deliver MHPSS support directly to those in need, providing individual consultations and facilitating group support meetings that empower and uplift beneficiaries.
- Coordinate seamless referrals and ensure thorough follow-up to support beneficiaries’ well-being and recovery journey.
- Champion the highest ICRC standards by designing and utilizing culturally relevant monitoring and evaluation tools, ensuring adequate data collection for informed decision-making.
- Build and nurture vital connections with health authorities, academic partners, technical advisors, and other key stakeholders, expanding the reach and impact of our MHPSS programs.
- Establish and maintain meaningful, supportive relationships with MHPSS program beneficiaries, keeping their needs at the heart of our efforts.
- Empower MHPSS staff by providing training, mentorship, and support, fostering growth and expertise among ICRC teams and partners as outlined in the program strategy.
- Maintain open and regular communication with the Mental Health & Psychological Delegate and Health Coordinator, sharing insights, data, and program updates to ensure continuous alignment and support for our shared mission.

About you
To be successful as a Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Field Officer (Psychologist) in the Health Department (Mental Health Unit), you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:
- Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- University degree in clinical psychology (minimum 3 years university study) or psychiatry (minimum 5 years university study)
- Typically, 3 to 5 years of overall professional experience with a minimum 2 years of experience in MHPSS programmes
- Clinical and/or psychosocial experience
- Humanitarian experience an asset
- Fluent command (written and spoken) of English and Ukrainian
- Computer proficiency
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
