POSITION SUMMARY:

The Social Work Coordinator serves as the lead supervisor and technical specialist for MHPSS and case management for IDPs, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, including veterans. This role involves establishing protocols for consultations and home visits, providing ongoing low-dose, high-frequency training and supervision to community-level providers. Additionally, the coordinator will deliver direct client services and support as part of the specialist mobile care team, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to best practices.

Role & Responsibilities

  1. Technical Implementation
  • Lead Supervisor for MHPSS and Case Management: Oversee the provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) and case management services, specifically targeting internally displaced persons (IDPs), the elderly, persons with disabilities (PwD), and veterans.
  • Protocol Development: Establish and implement protocols for psychological consultations and home visits to ensure consistent and high-quality care.
  • Training and Supervision: Conduct ongoing low-dose, high-frequency training and supervision of community-level providers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver effective mental health services.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the technical area specialist, providing guidance and support to the MHPSS team in line with best practices and international standards.

2. Direct Client Services and Support

  • Mobile Care Team Member: Actively participate as a member of the specialist mobile care team, providing direct psychological services to clients, including assessments, therapy, and crisis intervention.
  • Client-Centered Care: Ensure that all interventions are client-centered, tailored to the unique needs of IDPs, the elderly, PwD, and veterans, with a focus on improving their mental health and overall well-being.
  • Case Management Support: Collaborate with case managers to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the psychological and social needs of clients.
  • Community Engagement: Work closely with community leaders and stakeholders to promote mental health awareness and facilitate access to services for vulnerable populations.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Psychologist or social work with 3 years' supervisory experience and direct client care experience; previous NGO experience preferred in the humanitarian response
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with project management software
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, ability to deliver when facing multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter, strongly motivated and interested in rapidly producing results

  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • University education in relevant field required (social sciences, applied sciences, business or similar). Advanced degree, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in NGOs
  • Project management experience for at least 3 years in humanitarian health, preferably in the Ukrainian 
  • Up to 40% domestic travel
