Consultancy Description
Rehab specialist on Assistive Technology (AT) Cabinets Consultant will provide support to Rehab4U technical team in analyzing the work of AT cabinets and developing recommendations to improve the regulatory framework for AT cabinets; develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for AT cabinets and their implementation in the fields.
Detailed Responsibilities
Rehab specialist on AT cabinets Consultant shall assume the following specific responsibilities for the length of the consultancy:
Analyze the work of AT cabinets and develop recommendations to improve the regulatory framework for AT cabinets
- Analyze national regulations regarding AT cabinets, identifying inconsistencies and issues.
- Analyze the management and administration of existing AT cabinets to help develop recommendations for improving their functioning.
- Review and analyse results of collected data gathered by survey on AT cabinets functioning.
- Identify the main barriers to the functioning of the AT cabinets and formulate possible solutions based on national regulations and data analysis.
- Work closely with the project's technical team to develop draft amendments to the regulatory acts that regulate the activities of the AT cabinets.
- Provide input on drafts of amendments to regulatory acts governing the activities of AT cabinets, based on management experiences and best practices.
- Regularly participate and provide inputs for the creation of draft amendments to regulatory acts that regulate the activities of the AT cabinets.
- Identify advantages and disadvantages in draft amendments to regulatory acts that regulate the activities of the AT cabinets based on existing management experiences and best practices on service delivery.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for AT cabinets and their implementation in the fields.
- Regularly participate in the meetings with MWH staff dedicated to drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs) on AT cabinets functioning.
- Providing inputs in development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) on AT cabinets functioning.
- Implement drafted standard operating procedures (SOPs) on AT cabinets within health care facility.
- Provide feedback on implementation of drafted standard operating procedures (SOPs) on AT cabinets within health care facility.
- Providing additional inputs to review developed standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on feedback during implementation standard operating procedures (SOPs) for improving AT cabinets functioning
- Maintain regular communication and collaboration with the MWH team to analyze and provide feedback on the functioning of AT cabinets based on implemented SOPs
- Share experience in implementation standard operating procedures (SOPs) on AT cabinets with interested service providers in format of training, webinar or other tools organized by MWH.
Communication and collaboration with MWH and project staff
- Permanently communicate and collaborate with team MWH on performing described tasks.
- Closely coordinate efforts with AT Technical Specialist on AT cabinets functioning.
- Promptly inform the AT Technical Specialist about progress and challenges in analyzing national regulations, international practices, and developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for AT cabinets.
- Represent MWH as needed in relevant coordination meetings and other strategic meetings of national and international stakeholders and partners
- Participate in MWH Ukraine, HQ team and other relevant meetings needed for successful implementation of planned activities as needed.
- Provide input for ad hoc donor and internal reports promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the rehabilitation field, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, PRM doctor or other relevant fields
- At least three years of clinical or educational experience in the rehabilitation field
- Employment in a healthcare facility in the position of department head or acting department head
- Presence of an assistive technology cabinet in the department where the individual works
- Proficiency in the legislative regulations regarding rehabilitation and assistive technologies in Ukraine
- Experience in writing and implementing standard operating procedures and putting them into practice within a hospital setting
- Experience, general awareness, and understanding of assistive technology and assistive products
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Written and spoken fluency in Ukrainian
- Experience in collaboration with international or humanitarian organizations.
- Proficient computer skills at an adequate level
