As a Drivers Manger at Brite Logistics, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient and timely management of transportation operations. Your primary responsibilities will include driver coaching, dispatching drivers, monitoring shipments, and ensuring on-time deliveries. You will be the key point of contact between drivers and customers, ensuring smooth communication and problem-solving to meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driver Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers. Provide support to drivers, including instructions for pickup and delivery, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their compliance with company policies. Manage drivers home time schedule and missed workdays.
  • Drivers coaching: On-going drivers coaching to keep drivers' performance and knowledge at the top level. Constant reminders of operating procedures. Update and coach drivers if new procedures or policies are rolled out.
  • Drivers' performance: Making sure drivers meet our requirements and expectations.
  • HOS monitoring and support: Monitor drivers' Hours of Service. HOS utilization efficiency. Preventing actions to avoid violations.
  • Track and Trace: Monitor the progress of shipments and communicate with drivers regularly to ensure on-time delivery. Provide real-time updates to the Planners and address any issues that may arise.
  • Route Optimization: Use routing software and real-time data to plan the most efficient routes, considering factors like expensive tolls, traffic, weather, and road conditions.
  • Customer Communication: Provide customers with all requested paperwork and shipment status. Address any concerns or delays that may arise. Maintain a high level of customer service.
  • Problem Resolution: Quickly and effectively resolve any operational issues, mechanical problems, or other unforeseen challenges. Collaborate with drivers and internal teams to find solutions.
  • Reporting: Generate reports on drivers' performance as HOS Utilization, on time service, attendance, and communication, to assess and improve efficiency.

  • Work towards achieving Brite Logistics Inc.'s operational and financial goals.
  • Complete assigned tasks before the deadline.
  • Respond to emails promptly.
  • Attend all scheduled team meetings.
  • Be available on all communication channels and responsive to messages and urgent requests.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in dispatching, routing, and logistics operations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer relationship management.

Systems:

  • Email platforms (Outlook, Gmail, Front, among others).
  • Office automation apps (Microsoft 365, Google Suite, among others).
  • Carrier/Partner/Agent Websites.
  • Logistics TMS.
  • Instant messaging apps (Slack, MS Teams, Zoom, Google Hangouts, among others).
  • Other apps and systems required for the operation (depending on the nature of the company's operations).

Working Conditions: 

The Dispatcher will work in an office setting, requiring extended periods of sitting and the use of office equipment and computers. The environment may be fast-paced, demanding excellent organizational and time management skills.
