Assignment
Under the supervision of the REACH Senior Data Officer, the REACH Data Assistant is responsible for the processes and outputs related to data processing for specific research cycles in Ukraine. She/he will support the coding of data collection tools, data cleaning, data processing, data analysis, and data visualization activities in cooperation with the IMPACT team in country and in Geneva.
This position is intended for people with disabilities only.
FUNCTIONS
The Data Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Data processing/Data transformation activities
The REACH Data Assistant will be responsible for:
- Coding of REACH questionnaires and tools for data collection;
- Providing data analysis support to the REACH office including but not limited to data cleaning, data processing, data analysis and data visualization;
- Providing information management (IM) support to the REACH assessment team including questionnaire preparation and daily IM support during data collection and reporting process;
- Supporting the development of internal IM procedures and guidelines.
2. Capacity building activities
The REACH Data Assistant will support or conduct trainings in elementary data analysis and data management for non-technical audiences (capacity building).
3. Internal Communication Processes
The REACH Data Assistant will work closely with the IMPACT Senior Data Officer, REACH (Senior) Assessment Officers, and the RM for the Sectors Unit in country to guarantee a quality of all REACH products.
4. Confidentiality and Data Protection
The REACH Data Assistant will maintain the strictest confidentiality of data and processes. He/she will actively take measures to prevent the unauthorized sharing of information and data.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as required and necessary within the area of responsibility.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Social Sciences, or any relevant discipline;
Technical requirements:
- MS Excel: advanced usage of formulas, pivot tables, wide datasets.
- Desirable technical qualifications:
- Previous experience with mobile data collection tools (ODK, KOBO, Ona) and understanding of questionnaire design workflow;
- Familiarity with XLS-Form standard;
- Data processing and analysis experience using R;
- Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to think creatively in terms of tool and process development and optimization;
- Flexibility and adaptability to ever-changing needs and responsibilities;
- Ability to work independently;
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- Familiarity with the aid system and understanding of donor and governmental requirements is an asset;
- Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian; and
- Good command of English (at least Intermediate level B1).
