Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is currently looking for Livelihoods Officer to work in Kharkiv.

About PAH:

Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) is an international non-governmental organization which since 1992 has been providing humanitarian and development help worldwide. So far, the interventions have been carried out in 46 different countries. By possessing long-standing expertise in the implementation of projects in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Security and Livelihoods, as well as Nutrition and Education, PAH concentrates its global activities on ensuring sustainable and stable development of regions suffering from the consequences of armed conflicts, natural disasters and other humanitarian crises.

PAH has been present in Ukraine since August 2014 delivering humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable of the conflict-affected population. PAH provides assistance to internally displaced people, elderly and single mothers, working in the sectors of food security protection and livelihoods. PAH Ukraine is currently expanding programming from humanitarian to both early recovery and development-oriented interventions that provide sustainable livelihoods opportunities to the affected population.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs assessments and identify target groups for programme activities.

  • Implement livelihoods programme activities in accordance with project proposals, work plans, and deadlines.

  • Ensure effective work of implementing partners through coordination, monitoring, and regular meetings.

  • Maintain constant communication with beneficiaries to provide support, consultations, and clarifications at all stages of programme implementation.

  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation on programme activities, including reports, registers, and analyses.

  • Prepare and participate in the development of project proposals related to livelihoods programmes.

  • Collaborate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team to develop monitoring plans, performance indicators, and analyze programme results.

  • Work closely with the communication team to ensure timely, clear, and effective communication of programme activities internally and externally.


Livelihoods Officer will be selected based on the qualification requirements described below:

  • Higher professional education in a relevant field (Master’s degree or equivalent preferred in agriculture/veterinary, business administration or economical, etc ).

  • At least 1 year of professional experience in livelihoods programming/early recovery or related fields.

  • Work experience in international or local NGOs is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of English will be a privilege.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proven drafting, analytical, and research skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage a challenging workload effectively.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and proactively address challenges.
