About the job
The ICRC Logistics Department (Fleet Unit) is seeking a highly capable Heavy Vehicle (Truck) Driver to join our team in Dnipro. In close cooperation with the team members and line managers, the Heavy Vehicle (Truck) Driver will mainly be responsible for transportation of people and goods in a safe and timely manner, in accordance with ICRC rules and regulations and national traffic laws.
Start date: January 2025
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Transport people and/or material in strict adherence to internal security rules and Ukrainian traffic laws
- Constantly monitor security conditions on the road
- Ensure that goods are stored inside the vehicle according to local, international, and ICRC safety standards
- Be accountable for the cargo under supervision, from signing the waybill to delivery
- Supervise loading and unloading of goods
- Ensure that goods are secured during transportation in accordance with local, international, and ICRC safety standards
- Check assigned vehicles’ equipment, general functioning and condition, and ensure that it is kept fueled and clean
- Check that trips have been authorized
- Report accidents, defects, and/or missing equipment
- May act as head of convoy
- Ensure that risks are mitigated by performing the controls assigned

About you
To be successful as Heavy Vehicle (Truck) Driver in the Logistics Department (Fleet Unit), you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:
- Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- Secondary school diploma
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a truck driver
- Driving license B, C, D and E and license to pull 40-MT trailers (C1E).
- Basic knowledge (spoken and written) of English is an asset
- Good knowledge of the terrain in the area of assignment
- Ability to change a tire and carry out other minor repairs on the road
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
