Job Title: Driver
Duty Station: Kyiv with regular trips to the east and west of Ukraine. Full-time position for Ukrainian nationals only.
Reporting Line: The driver reports to the Security Manager / Operations Manager
Scope of the Position: The Driver is responsible for transporting CESVI staff, partners, documents and goods/materials to designated destinations when officially approved within an area and country. With the overall direction of the Security Manager / Operations Manager and working as an integral part of the CESVI's Team, the incumbent will be ensuring maximum professionalism and adding capacity in supporting the CESVI activities in Ukraine in its response to the humanitarian crisis and its assistance to the most vulnerable population affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- To provide efficient and safe transportation to CESVI staff, partners, documents and goods/materials to designated destinations.
- Perform day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles.
- Maintain the logbook for all trips.
- Ensure the assigned vehicle has all the necessary documents and equipment.
- Ensure the prompt respond and availability when required from mission’s needs.
- Ensure that instructions and security guidance provided by the security focal point are strictly followed.
- Ensure that the vehicle is fueled and ready for use.
- Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays.
- Keeping the vehicle hygienic and presentable.
- Support Logistics and Procurement Department in maintenance the Office and Guesthouse premises if requested.
- Perform other related duties as required by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary school education.
- Formal driver training with a valid driver’s license (category B).
Professional experience:
- Minimum 3 or more years of work experience as a driver, preferably in an international organization.
- Experience in defensive driving is desirable.
Skills and Competences:
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
- Good understanding of transport services and ability to coordinate routes and schedules.
- Ability to assess vehicles for mechanical fitness and skills in minor vehicle repairs.
- Working knowledge of English is mandatory.
- Basic skills to assist in case of emergency and knowledge of first aid methods are desirable.
- Ability to demonstrate a client-oriented approach and high sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Flexible and with positive attitude.
