Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) — a humanitarian non-governmental organization from Norway is opening a vacancy of Medical Coordinator
Responsibilities
- Ensure that first aid provided by the team medics complies with international first aid standards,
NPA, SOP and NMAS. Stay up to date with current international best practices for first aid and first
responder medical procedures.
- Take the lead in facilitating the delivery of high-quality medical services in line with NPA SOP.
- Travel to all NPA clearance sites throughout all NPA areas of operations and conduct Quality
Assurance and Quality Control of NPA teams medics.
- Participate as a member of the selection panel for the recruitment of new medics for NPA Ukraine.
- Maintain records of all equipment issued to the NPA team medics, and monitor expiration dates for perishable items, and submit Purchase Requests as required to ensure all trauma bags are fully stocked at all times, and that sufficient spare equipment and supplies are maintained in the logistics store.
- Prepare and conduct training for the NPA teams medics, and all relevant NPA field and office staff. Train new medics recruited into NPA. Prepare and implement, in consultation with the STFMs, an ongoing plan for refresher training of all NPA team medics.
- Prepare and implement, in consultation with operations management, an ongoing plan for
refresher training of all NPA team medics
- In conjunction with the ongoing refresher training, identify any competency or equipment gaps for NPA teams medics and report these to the STFMs.
- Monitor and maintain the required levels of medical equipment at NPA office and base locations, and within vehicles.
- Adhere to all NPA policies, regulations, procedures and the SOP at all times.
- Perform duties regardless of patient’s race, religion, sex, age, nationality, disability, social or economic status.
- Document and record all actions and duties.
- Perform duties as team medic when needed in support of operations when required.
Requirements:
- Paramedic, nurse or higher medical education
- Work experience as a paramedic and/or emergency room nurse or similar
- Ukrainian and/or Russian as native language
- Written and verbal proficiency in English
- Proven experience of delivering field-based training
- Valid driving license category B
Desirable:
- Paramedic training
- Passed relevant training course
- Passed operational accreditation
- Experience as medic in mine action
