Position Overview:
NPA is seeking a fluent English-speaking Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and Conflict Preparedness and Protection (CPP) Officer. This role requires proven experience in delivering trainings; understanding of the monitoring and evaluation process. Sufficient level of English proficiency to communicate is required. Knowledge of EORE and CPP would be advantageous but is not a requirement as training will be given to the selected candidate.
The position is based in Mykolaiv with extensive travel of Ukraine – at least 1/2 of the time travelling.
Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the NPA NTS/EORE TFM and implement both Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and Conflict Preparedness and Protection (CPP) related tasks under the direction of the NTS/EORE TFM.
- Represents the NPA Ukraine as EORE and CPP focal point in project implementation with a partner organisation.
- Coordinates all NPA Ukraine-supported EORE and CPP partner activities in Ukraine with NPA DHC staff, including (but not limited to) partners’ field operations, training, and monitoring, learning and evaluation.
- Monitors and communicates EORE/CPP project deliverables with a partner organisation and NPA DHC staff, based on the defined Project objectives and goals.
- Plans, oversees, organizes and coordinates all EORE and CPP field operations and related activities in Ukraine, implemented by a by NPA teams directly, under the supervision of the Ukraine NTS/EORE TFM.
- Monitors of key EORE/CPP related data in coordination with, and with support from, NPA Ukraine’s Information Management (IM) team.
- Conducst Quality Assurance and Control (QA & QC) visits of EORE/CPP activites delivered by NPA’s and partners’ teams.
- Assists in the development of NPA Ukraine’s EORE and CPP frameworks, SOPs, methodologies, safety messages, training approaches, and materials.
- Supports the NPA Ukraine country programme with coordination and liaison with national and international stakeholders as tasked by the OC.
- Organizes and delivers EORE and CPP training activities, primarily focused on the provision of Training-of-Trainers (ToT) to partners.
- Prepares internal and external reports, analysis and data under the direction of the NTS/EORE TFM.
- Performs any other reasonable task, conducive to the safe and efficient running of the programme, as detailed by the NPA Ukraine OM and/or NTS/EORE TFM.
Qualifications:
- Experience in planning and conducting trainings is required.
- Understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation is required.
- Working knowledge of Ukraine, understanding of its social, political, security, and economic context.
- Written & verbal proficiency in English is required.
- Very good computer skills essential.
- Valid driving licence.
- Experience of using GIS an advantage.
- Experience in mine action an advantage.
- Experience in project planning, implementation, follow up and proven analytical skills is an advantage
Education:
- At least an undergraduate degree in a related field is required.
