I create original content for adults and teens B1-C2. Grammar and pronunciation are covered in the context of conversation.

A weekly topic combines conversation questions, iconic pictures, relevant texts, infographics, and scenes from classic movies. The additional materials provide context, fuel discussion, and develop skills like reading-for-detail, as well as the ability not only to interpret but also to be able to explain infographics, charts, etc..

The scenes I use from classic movies provide short study breaks, help students understand the cultural context. They also develop listening skills, and let students experience the various accents and colloquial dialogue of the many different English-speaking communities around the world.

To conduct weekly conversations lessons for teens on the topics of my choosing. Attendance was optional so I had to make the lessons interesting.

I was based in my home state New Jersey. I was a reading, writing, history, math, and sometimes music theory tutor. I taught how to examine critically as well as the accepted academic standards for persuasive writing, which is needed to succeed in academic environments. I also liaised with teachers and parents to insure that lessons were being learned and problem areas were being addressed.
