• Imagemaking: denotation, imagemaking techniques, process, generation, and iteration, connotative imagemaking;
• Typography in Graphic Design: lexicon, typeface choice (serif/sans-serif), alignment, position, scale, angle;
• Shape and Color: visual contrast, composition, color theory, onscreen/offscreen color;
• Composition: symmetry, asymetry, rule of thirds, golden rectangle, golden ratio, types of visual contrast, visual hierarchy, context.

4-week online course.

• Principles: density, mood, story, proportions
  
• Shapes, character search
• Line density, defining the focus 
• Deconstructing, contrast, clean-up (focal mass vs. supporting mass)

8-week course and a month for the diploma project. A course also included profound Adobe Photoshop learning and a set of regular weekly exercises to get used to the graphic tablet.

1. Line: properties, instruments, basic lines, hierarchy.
   
2. Practicing line hierarchy.
3. Cuts and Topology: cutting simple objects, drawing topology nets, using the knowledge to understand the form.
4. Lights and Shadows: physics and laws of light, building shadows, ambient occlusion, reflected light, etc.
5. Color Theory: basics, warm and cold colors, textures, aerial perspective
6. Perspective: single point, two-point, three-point, foreshortening
   
7. Building depth: foreground, middle ground, background
8. Angles: finding the angle, fast sketches
9. Composition: golden ratio, rule of thirds, balance, setting the emphasis.

Intensive course of studying English with a native speaker from South Africa; also exploring Finnish system of education, visiting schools, kindergartens, universities, libraries, etc.

Learning how to create people-oriented products; learning marketing techniques and marketing principles; finishing the course with the diploma project of developing a strong marketing strategy for a basic product of daily use.
