Project-based Accounting System Implementation Lead (Cryptocurrency, E-Commerce, Multi-Entity)

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional (consultant/contractor) to lead and implement a robust accounting system for our company. Our business operates as both a cryptocurrency exchange and an e-commerce platform, incorporating payment service providers (PSPs), settlements, and multiple group entities requiring consolidation.

This is a project-based, temporary position (not full-time employment), perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic, high-tech environments and enjoys delivering impactful change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and lead the implementation of a comprehensive accounting system tailored to our crypto and e-commerce operations, including multi-entity structures and group-level consolidation
• Analyze and map complex transaction flows, including digital assets, fiat, and settlement processes across PSPs and multiple entities
• Identify requirements, select appropriate tools/software, and liaise with internal teams and external vendors
• Establish accounting policies, procedures, and best practices in line with crypto industry and regulatory standards
• Lead the consolidation of multiple legal entities and ensure accurate group-level financial reporting
• Train and onboard our finance and operations teams for the new system's effective ongoing use
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting, auditing, and relevant regulatory frameworks (crypto and traditional)

Requirements:

• Proven experience implementing accounting/finance systems in companies with cryptocurrency and/or fintech operations (crypto exchanges, trading platforms, PSPs, etc.)
• Deep understanding of cryptocurrency financial flows, e-commerce settlements, and multi-entity accounting/consolidation
• Demonstrated project leadership — from requirements gathering, entity structuring, and consolidation to execution and training
• Knowledge of global accounting standards, reporting, and compliance
• Excellent communication and change management skills
• Availability to commit to the project (expected duration: 4-6 months)

Nice to Have:

Experience with ERP/accounting tools used by crypto companies (eg, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Netsuite, specialized crypto accounting platforms), especially those handling group consolidations

Familiarity with AML/KYC and other regulatory requirements for crypto
