MEV is a software development company with business presence in the US and development centers in Europe. We are looking for a System Administrator who will support our team, maintain internal IT systems, and ensure smooth daily operations. This role is based in Cherkasy with a flexible office attendance schedule.
Scope of tasks and ownership:
You will be responsible for providing end-to-end IT support across our organization, ensuring our systems are secure, efficient, and well-maintained. Your duties will include:
- Endpoint and User Support: Onboarding and offboarding staff, deploying hardware/software, and managing access. You’ll also handle support for peripherals, meeting room equipment, and other devices
- System and Infrastructure Management: Administering Windows, macOS, and Linux servers, managing virtualization environments, and maintaining robust backup and recovery solutions
- Network Administration: Configuring and maintaining network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls), managing VPNs for remote users, and ensuring network security and performance
- Security and Compliance: Enforcing security policies, managing identity and access, and conducting regular security audits to protect our data
- Cloud and SaaS Administration: Managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a variety of SaaS applications (Google Workspace, Slack, Jira). You will also use automation tools and scripting to streamline workflows
- IT Operations and Projects: Creating and maintaining IT documentation, managing our hardware/software inventory, and collaborating with global teams on IT projects and system upgrades
What You’ll need:
- 2 + years of proven experience as a System Administrator in a multi-platform environment (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLAN, VPN)
- Experience with cloud identity management (Okta, Google Workspace)
- Hands-on with network hardware (Cisco, ZyXEL, MikroTik, Ubiquiti)
- Knowledge of endpoint management (MDM, EDR, patching, encryption)
- Familiarity with SaaS tools like Slack, Jira, Confluence, etc
- Solid understanding of information security principles
- Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good documentation practices
- English level Intermediate+ (for documentation and communication with global teams).
Nice-to-Have:
- Virtualization expertise (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox)
- Knowledge of clustering, high availability, load balancing
- Automation & scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python; Zapier, Apify, Bardeen)
- Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Experience with monitoring platforms (Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios)
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Participation in audits, compliance, and IT security governance
- Knowledge of structured cabling systems (SCM)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT / related field
