Meest Canada is looking for a Market Research Analyst / Business Development (Data Research Specialist focus) to support our Business Development team with market research, data analysis, and structured reporting to drive informed business decisions and international growth.

This role is focused on researching the Canadian market, identifying new agent locations and partners, analyzing demand and performance, and transforming data into clear, actionable insights.

 About the role

As a Market Research Analyst, you will work closely with the Business Development team and play a key role in scaling Meest Canada’s operations. Your insights will directly support decisions related to market expansion, agent network development, and B2C/B2B partnerships across Canada.

Main Responsibilities

Market & Agent Research

  • Conduct data-driven research to identify potential regions in Canada for opening new agents and shipping centers.
  • Analyze market size, customer demand, competition, pricing benchmarks, and logistics potential by region.
  • Prepare shortlists of priority markets and agent candidates based on Business Development criteria.

Partner & B2C Research

  • Research and identify potential B2C partners: e-commerce platforms, shipping platforms, 3PLs, local couriers, and retailers.
  • Collect and structure partner information, including company profile, service coverage, shipment volumes, pricing models, and strategic fit.
  • Support Business Development managers with background research before outreach, meetings, and negotiations.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare regular Business Development reports (weekly / monthly / quarterly) covering:
    • market opportunities,
    • agent network expansion,
    • partner pipelines,
    • B2C shipment trends.
  • Analyze sales funnels, lead sources, conversion rates, and market performance.
  • Create dashboards, tables, and presentations for management.

 Data Management & Strategic Support

  • Collect, clean, and maintain Business Development datasets from CRM systems, internal reports, and external sources.
  • Support CRM data accuracy and segmentation.
  • Assist with Business Development strategy planning, new market entry, forecasting, and pilot projects.
  • Identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities using quantitative and qualitative data.

 Requirements

Must-have:

  • 1–3+ years of experience in market research, data research, business analysis, or similar roles.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with high attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills (formulas, pivot tables, data structuring).
  • Ability to prepare clear reports, summaries, and presentations.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple research tasks.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with international markets.
  • Background in logistics, e-commerce, or B2C/B2B businesses.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and dashboards.
