Team Lead, Carrier Sales/Load Coverage Specialist,
Our client is a logistics solutions provider offering a wide range of transportation and freight management services. Key Responsibilities:
- Carrier Procurement: Source and negotiate with carriers to secure capacity for shipments. Build and maintain relationships with a network of carriers to ensure reliable service.
- Load Coverage: Coordinate the movement of freight by matching available carriers with customer shipments. Utilize load boards, transportation management systems (TMS), and other tools to find appropriate carriers for each load.
- Rate Negotiation: Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining profitability. Evaluate market conditions and carrier performance to optimize pricing strategies.
- Customer Communication: Communicate with customers to understand their transportation needs and provide updates on load status. Address any concerns or issues related to transportation.
- Carrier Management: Manage carrier relationships by monitoring performance, resolving disputes, and providing feedback for improvement. Ensure carriers comply with contractual agreements and meet service level expectations.
- Documentation: Generate and manage transportation documentation, including rate confirmations, bills of lading, and other required paperwork. Ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve transportation-related issues, such as delivery delays, equipment shortages, or route changes. Implement contingency plans to minimize disruptions to shipments.
- Data Analysis: Analyze transportation data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost-saving measures. Use insights to optimize routing, carrier selection, and operational efficiency.
- Interaction with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
- Fast-paced and dynamic work environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
Job requirements:
- 3-4 years of experience in carrier sales, freight brokerage, or logistics coordination on the US market.
- Team management background.
- Organizing everyday working processes for the team;
- Training new employees and company crosstraining;
Conducting meetings(weekly, one-on-one); - Resolving issues and conflicts withing the team;
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport and influence others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry best practices.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Working conditions:
- This position will be offered on one of the following schedules:
- 3-Day work week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday): 12-hour shifts from 7 am to 7 pm CST
- 3-Day work week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday): 12-hour shifts from 7 pm to 7 am CST
- 4-Day work week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday): 8-hour shifts from 7 am to 3 pm
- 4-Day work week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday): 8-hour shifts from 3 pm to 11 pm
- 4-Day work week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday): 8-hour shift from 11 pm to 7 am
