International Charitable Foundation «SOS Children’s Villages» is looking for a professional to join our team at the position of Grant Projects Director (f/m)
Mission of the position:
In close cooperation with projects implementing teams, ensures strong grant and contract management throughout the project cycle, actively supporting the development of organization’s funding portfolio. Builds strong relationships with donors, as requested by the organisation's senior management. Manages the team of Project Managers. Works in close collaboration with the National Program Development Director (NPDD), Communications and Fundraising Director (FR&CD) in terms of agreement any new application or possibilities for new funding opportunities.
Requirements:
- University degree in Economics, Social Sciences, Management or related fields
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in leading and coordinating role in multi-cluster INGOs
- Strong project management skills
- Knowledge of Project Cycle Management including needs assessment, project design, development and implementation, M&E
- Experience in grant writing and management, budgeting, and reporting is essential
- Ability in establishing strong and effective working relationships with colleagues from different backgrounds and culture
- Willingness and readyness to work in unstable, volatile security environments, possibility to travel to field locations
- Strong leadership, team building, communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational and problem solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, work under pressure and cope with stress
- Good knowledge of the country in terms of its political, economic and social trends, and good understanding of the key development issues
- Proficiency in English and Ukrainian.
- Good proficiency in the use of Microsofr Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email (Outlook) and online video conferencing tools (MS Teams, Zoom etc.)
- Sharing the values, aims and objectives of organisation, and commitment to humanitarian principles and international humanitarian standards.
Main responsibilities:
- Oversees the implementation of grant-funded projects aimed for development, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
- Builds and maintains relationships with funding agencies, partners, and donors.
- Manages a team of Project Managers who implement development projects and provides guidance and support as needed.
- Applies best practices in grant management and makes recommendations for improvement.
- In close cooperation with NPDD and FR&CD ensures compliance with SOS Ukraine rules and regulations governing grants and ensures agreements and negotiation memos are drafted in accordance with SOS Ukraine policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Сonsolidates information from projects under his/her supervision for regular reporting.
- Approves the terms of references for procurement (tender announcements), decisions made by the tender committee, participates in procurement procedures for projects` needs, approves payments (invoices).
- Ensures that project managers follow through on recommendations provided by the program department regarding the quality of services delivered in each project.
- Ensures that lessons learned are successfully incorporated into new activity developments.
- Participates in working group meetings to discuss and develop new projects.
- Participates in budget and activities planning, according to the project needs and donor`s requirements.
- Provide support in gathering grant-related information required to meet senior management requests.
- Participates in risks assessment and management in the sphere of his/her responsibility.
- Ensures smooth and effecitve collaboration amoung all SOS CV actors and stakeholders.
- Participates in the recruitment of project managers and supports in their on-boarding process.
- Holds regular reviews and performance appraisal with project managers to assess performance, and identifies areas for development.
- Responsible within own area of work to prevent and protect children of all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination based on SOS Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy and Regulation principles, as well as adult safeguarding and asset protection.
