The Charity Foundation “NEW WAY” is a non-profit non-governmental organization working in the field of humanitarian aid, rehabilitation and development. Our main focus is the implementation of projects in the areas of Shelter and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene).
The Charity Foundation “NEW WAY" is looking for a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in Dnipro to support the implementation of projects in the Donetska and Dnipropetrovska oblasts. The position involves field visits to these regions.
Probation period: 2 months
Responsibilities:
- Develop M&E tools for quantitative and qualitative information collection and work with program staff to ensure the tools and processes are understood and used;
- Perform monitoring visits to the project locations;
- Develop baseline, mid-term and end-line studies, and reports;
- Lead focus group discussions, key informant interviews and manage the work of enumerators when relevant;
- Perform monitoring visits to the project locations;
- Ensure that data reported meets the dimension of data quality;
- Ensure proper filing and storage of M&E documents including questionnaires, monitoring reports, datasets, among others;
- Participate in regular data verification to assess the quality of data reported and address any anomalies identified;
- Follow up project indicators and project activities through standardized data collection tools and methodologies;
- Submit to the M&E Coordinator weekly and monthly updates on M&E activities conducted in the field;
- Support M&E Coordinator in the compilation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports through provision of timely accurate and updated data;
- Support project teams to prepare activity reports and documentation of best practices, lessons learnt, assessment reports;
- Prepare M&E reports containing summary data and reviewing overall performance against targets;
- Support the recording of feedback, analyses, and accessibility of feedback data for programmatic decision making;
- Oversee the implementation of the project’s feedback and complaints mechanism;
- Maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and other associated guidelines.
Required background and competencies:
- Minimum of one year’s experience with monitoring and evaluation, research (qualitative and quantitative), in a humanitarian relief context;
- Desirable experience in other humanitarian NGOs;
- Sound understanding of project cycle management;
- Experience in drafting reports;
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Excel and/or MS Access)
- Experience in the usage of mobile data collection platforms (e.g. ODK, Kobo, SurveyCTO) & developing XLS forms;
- Knowledge of data analysis software (e.g. STATA, SPSS, R, GIS, nVivo, etc.) will be an asset;
- Experience in M&E with Shelter and/or WASH projects will be an asset.
