Our growing Transportation Company is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to assist the accounting department. We have a great culture and look forward to your Brite Future!
Duties and Responsibilities
- Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records
- Provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization
- Perform regular accounts reviews with the team and advise of an action plan
- Protect businesses against unintentional overpayment
- Manage the reconciliation of any irregularities.
- Practice effective monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner
- Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices
- Assemble and review invoices to be completed for payment
- Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files
- Type periodic reports and other records
- Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payment to vendors
- Ensure accurate customer information is in the system according to company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with accounting staff to ensure accuracy in finances.
- Maintain confidentiality of all business and employee information.
- Work on special projects as necessary.
- Duties are subject to change based on business needs.
- Participate in cross training and support where needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Analytical skills
- Detail oriented and organized
- Able to multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Bookkeeping a plus
- A great positive attitude is a MUST
