Triangle of Generation Humanitaire (TGH)
It is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) developing and implementing emergency, post-emergency and development programs since 1994. The programs belong to the field of water supply, hygiene and sanitation, civil construction (housing), food security, rural development (livelihood), social, educational and protection. TGH's dedicated teams work in 11 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
TGH in Ukraine:
TGH has been operating in Ukraine since June 2016. Starting in Kramatorsk to support the most vulnerable populations affected by the conflict in the Donbas region, TGH continued to provide assistance to war survivors from February 2022 to October 2024, through four operational bases in Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and Lviv, delivering humanitarian aid through Protection activities (Case Management, Legal Aid and PSS) and Basic Needs (MPCA, Shelter, WASH).
From October 2024 TGH established its coordination office in Kyiv and has been focusing on Protection and Shelter in the Eastern region, supporting people in need in the Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk Oblast (GCA) and Zaporizhzhia Oblast from its operational base in Dnipro, through direct and indirect implementation. As a global nexus specialist, in parallel, TGH is also aiming to scale up its recovery/ resilience program in the Central/ Western regions.
General objective of the position:
The position is focused on raising awareness among community members and conflict-affected population about protection issues and self-protection mechanism as well as establish and maintain relationships with government and authorities. Moreover, in the spirit of protection information dissemination, the Outreach Worker will also provide individual protection counselling/consultation.
This position will be based in Dnipro city, Dnipropetrovska Oblast, Ukraine. This position will require regular travel (3-4 days per week) to the project locations including to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) pockets or areas affected by attacks – supported by the Security and Logistics Department of TGH – to implement the activities.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Conducting awareness raising campaign
- Conduct awareness raising sessions community meetings and dialogues as well as community mobilization activities aimed at raising awareness on protection issues and self-protection and/or community-based protection mechanism
- Develop and update protection awareness raising sessions key messages, presentations and materials including information, education and communication (IEC) materials
- Coordinate the protection awareness raising campaign activities implemented by other protection team members including ensuring the high-quality content of materials, providing recommendations to the strategies and movement plan, and supporting in reporting
- Organize/lead organization of protection campaign events
Protection counselling and consultation
- Provide individual protection counselling/consultation on the reliable and clear information on the available humanitarian and social services by the humanitarian community and the government
- Provide information about TGH protection and non-protection programs, including on the eligibility criteria
Support to needs identification and referrals
- Conduct internal and external safe and dignified referrals of individuals to the services needed
- Lead internal service mapping and referrals pathway development and maintaining/regular updates
- Support the identification and referrals of potential service users or recipients to relevant TGH programme departments (protection and non-protection)
- Support identification of protection needs, community-based structure and service gaps in the community
- Establishing contacts with internally displaced persons (IDPs) and persons/households affected by armed conflict or humanitarian crisis to identify persons at heightened protection risks
Representation, relationship building, and partnership
- Establish and maintain relationships with local authorities, community members, public institutions and other humanitarian actors and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain a referral pathway between TGH and local authorities and/or other humanitarian actors
- Support TGH relevant staff members in monitoring the protection project implementation by national/local NGO partners including on the alignment with the agreed objectives, planning and budget and humanitarian standards. Where requested, provide direct feedback to partners
- Support TGH relevant staff members in sharing and maintaining the protection capacity of national/local NGO partners, including by identifying training/mentoring/coaching needs, developing training materials, facilitating training for TGH national/local partners, and coaching and mentoring
- Attend Protection Clusters and AoRs meetings if requested by line manager
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accounting and Learning (MEAL)
- Contribute to lessons learned workshop or report if requested by line manager
- Prepare and contribute to the reporting system established by MEAL and Program departments based on the activities implemented on time
- Supports the MEAL team in data collection if requested by the line manager
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in social work or related field
- Fluency in Ukrainian language
- At least 1 year of relevant work/volunteer experience in the protection in humanitarian action
- Experience in conducting awareness-raising campaigns on protection, child protection, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, and gender-based violence (GBV)
- Experience in relationship building and networking with stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork
- Good report writing skills
- Good computer skills in Microsoft Office Suites, Canva, Telegram, social media and other relevant software or platforms)
- Ability to work independently and proactively, as well as manage a complex and varied workload and deadlines
- Proactivity and initiative, good organizational skills
- Honesty and integrity
- Good problem-solving skills and solutions-oriented
- Strong motivation for humanitarian work
- Knowledge of English will be an advantage
