IMPACT and REACH Initiatives are seeking a Translation and Reporting Officer to support the creation of Ukrainian and Russian publications resulting from IMPACT-led assessment activities, in cooperation with IMPACT team in country and in Geneva. He/she will have the opportunity to work across all IMPACT programs and thematic focuses, including its humanitarian-focused portfolio, environment/disaster risk reduction portfolio, socio-economic portfolio, and support to local governments and decision-makers.
FUNCTIONS
The IMPACT Translation and Reporting Officer will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Product development activities
- Collaborate with IMPACT Assessment Officers to translate reports, factsheets, situation overviews, and other formal outputs into high-quality Ukrainian and/or Russian publications;
- Quality management and review of other Ukrainian and Russian-language public-facing reports produced by Assessment Officers;
2. Harmonization of English/Ukrainian terminology
- Maintain and improve the IMPACT Terminology Bank across all technical themes;
- Standardization of key reference terminology, including facility names, geographic administration names;
3. Support to data collection processes
- Review and back-translation of questionnaires during research design and piloting phases;
- Review and translation of select respondent-provided responses for the purpose of publishing formal datasets;
4. Communications
- Advise and validate language in external presentations and communications with external stakeholders;
- Creation of public-facing products for IMPACT activity participants, in close cooperation with ACTED Communications team
5. Confidentiality and Data Protection
- The IMPACT Translation and Reporting Officer will maintain the strictest confidentiality of data and processes. He/she will actively take measures to prevent the unauthorized sharing of information and data.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Linguistics or any relevant discipline;
Technical requirements:
- Full working proficiency in English (at least a C1 command), Ukrainian, and Russian required;
- Previous experience working in humanitarian, development, or environmental fields required;
- Previous experience translating, copyediting, drafting high-quality analytical products in Ukrainian and Russian documents;
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Power Point skills
- Desirable technical qualifications:
- Knowledge of report production software (i.e. InDesign, Illustrator) is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of computer-assisted translation software is an asset.
