The ICRC Weapon Contamination (WeC) Unit is seeking a skilled and committed Weapon Contamination (WeC) Field Officer to join our team in Kyiv. In this role, you will play a crucial part in implementing and supporting the ICRC’s WeC activities, ensuring the safety of our staff and the uninterrupted delivery of vital humanitarian operations. Your contributions will directly aid vulnerable communities and enhance the capacity of the URCS to address hazards posed by conventional and non-conventional weapon contamination. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in contexts where your expertise is needed most.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing and monitoring WeC initiatives that enhance safety and operational efficiency.
- Assess and analyze security, socio-economic, cultural, and political contexts, sharing essential information to support informed decision-making across the organization
- Gather, compile, and manage WeC-related information to shape strategies and responses.
- Support and strengthen the capabilities of national authorities and the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (UCRS) to address weapon contamination challenges
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with authorities and stakeholders to facilitate effective program delivery.
- Provide translation and interpretation services as needed to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Monitoring regional dynamics: Report on events and changes in the region that could impact ICRC operations, helping to shape strategic priorities and objectives.
- When required, step in for the WeC Field Manager and represent the WeC program professionally and confidently in internal and external meetings.

About you
To be successful as a WeC CBRN Field Manager in the Weapon Contamination (WeC) Unit, you should possess the following qualifications and experiences and have the following characteristics:
- Ukrainian citizenship or permanent residence permit in Ukraine
- Relevant University degree or technical college
- At least three years of overall professional experience
- Typically, two years of experience in Weapon Contamination/mine action or a similar field
- Academically or professionally proficient in a technical WeC-related subject or pedagogics
- Knowledge of the ICRC/humanitarian work an asset
- Good knowledge of the geographic area assigned
- Excellent teaching and presentation skills
- Good command (written and spoken) of English, Ukrainian, and Russian
- Computer literate, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Dialogue with authorities/arms carriers, Capacity building, Result-based management cycle, Context and dynamic analysis, Community and outreach activities, Security Awareness & Response
- Skilled in the following competencies: Adapting & Learning, Communication (ability to express and exchange views and ideas), Analysis & Synthesis
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork and humanitarian principles
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn
- Ability to work independently, as well as effectively under supervision
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to work within a diverse team and establish and maintain good working relations in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment
