POSITION SUMMARY:

The Rehabilitation Specialist will deliver technical support, ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring to community and facility actors. The role involves overseeing program quality in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), as well as occupational and physical therapy for long-term care clients. The specialist will enhance case management and service delivery skills, recommend strategies and policies to improve rehabilitative services, and ensure the provision of client-centered care for persons with disabilities (PwD), the elderly, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and veterans.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Technical Support and Capacity Building

• Provide technical guidance, ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring to community and facility-based actors.
• Build the capacity of community-level actors in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), as well as occupational and physical therapy.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer through workshops and practical sessions to improve service delivery.

2. Program Quality and Service Delivery

• Oversee the quality of MHPSS services, ensuring they meet best practices and international standards.
• Enhance case management and service delivery skills for actors involved in long-term care of clients, including those with disabilities, the elderly, and internally displaced persons (IDPs), including veterans.
• Monitor and evaluate service delivery to ensure it is client-centered and responsive to the needs of the target population.
• Recommend strategies and policies to improve rehabilitative service delivery across community and facility levels.
• Advocate for client-centered care models, ensuring the unique needs of PwD, the elderly, IDPs, and veterans are met.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement policies that enhance the overall quality and effectiveness of rehabilitative services.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Occupational or physical therapist with at least 2 years' work experience in direct client care and at least 1 years' experience in supervision of other service providers
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Ukrainian healthcare system and policies relevant to long-term care and rehabilitation
• English writing skills and strong analytical capacity assessment, and planning skills.
• Strong capacity for developing budgets for development projects
• Computer proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with project management software
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, ability to deliver when facing multiple projects with tight deadlines
• Must be a self-starter, strongly motivated and interested in rapidly producing results

• University education in relevant field required (social sciences, applied sciences, business or similar). Advanced degree, preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in NGOs
• Up to 25% domestic travel
