This role exists to provide technical and programme support to implement, coordinate, and monitor interventions for AAP, safeguarding and PSEA.
They will lead on approaches and adherence to requirements for all staff and associates to respect programme participants' rights to be protected from harm, and to provide a safe and protective environment when they are involved in any programmes, projects, or events.
AAP specialist will also ensure views, preferences and priorities of affected populations are incorporated into humanitarian response plans and all stages of project cycles.
As a part of MEAL department, this position reports to the National Programme manager with strong accountabilities to the humedica Country Director due to the sensitivities of safeguarding / PSEA issues should they arise.
Main Role and accountabilities (but not limited to)
As an Accountability to Affected population person:
Establish and support Feedback mechanism for all projects stakeholders on national and local levels.
Develop Feedback mechanism tools for relevant context based on projects field staff requests.
Provide ongoing technical support for country and field offices on the AAP portfolio
Support humedica in the design and implementation of strategies and action plans to scale up Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP)
Ensure the mainstreaming of AAP in program planning procedure, implementation, and monitoring in alignment with the global efforts in this area, and make sure to support humedica and partners projects staff implement these processes at field level.
Support humedica and partners offices with implementation of relevant, functional, and contextualized Feedback mechanisms
Provide support to project managers in complaint response, as needed
Assess the impact of AAP activities on the CO goals to achieve measurable results resulting in the improvement of humedica national portfolio
Develop capacities of humedica and partners NGOs staff on AAP through conducting trainings and other types of learning activities.
Collect, draft, write and/or organize AAP materials and related documentations for humedica national strategies and action plans
Develop communication materials (content) for programming an project implementation
As a Safeguarding key person
To act as the main point of contact within the CO for safeguarding
To ensure that staff and partners are aware of the humedica Child Safeguarding Policy and their responsibilities under it
To advise and support staff and partners with the implementation of the safeguarding policy – including risk assessments
Collaborate with technical specialists in program development, interviewing, and assisting in safer recruitment, training, and record relevant keeping
Participate as a response team member when concerns are raised, includes the proper completion of reports
Assist in the development and implementation of the related policies and procedures
To act as first point of contact for concerns regarding child and adults’ protection incidents and to raise those concerns to the responsible members of Country management team
As a PSEA humedica Focal point
Monitoring and oversight of the humedica PSEA action plan
Working in coordination with a PSEA national network (trainings, meetings, workshops, technical working groups, etc.)
Helping to ensure that humedica PSEA is included in country strategy, program portfolio, project activities and partners agreement
Holding PSEA catch-up activities for humedica national/international staff
Being the focal point for SEA complaints and concerns on country level
Contributing to developing and updating a communication material for programme stakeholders and beneficiaries
