ActionAid is a global federation working for a world free from poverty and injustice. ActionAid’s Regional Office for Eastern Europe was established in Kyiv in 2022 and is covering projects in Ukraine, Romania, Poland, Moldova and Georgia. ActionAid works through a wide range of local partner organisations in the nexus, prioritising young people’s leadership, civil society development, women’s rights and leadership, the protection of at-risk groups and minorities, as well as humanitarian assistance.
The Role:
The Youth Inspirator will support youth-led organizations and social movements to move from ad-hoc activism to sustained institutional advocacy — linking grassroots youth action to structured dialogue with decision-makers. This includes supporting the design of advocacy frameworks, coalition strategies, and mechanisms for meaningful youth participation in local governance. The placement is about embedding activism within systems, ensuring that feminist and youth-led perspectives are heard in public institutions shaping recovery and democratic reform.
The role is based in Ivano-Frankivsk and reports to the Social Movements Lead. The role works closely with the Programs team, the Comms Senior Officer, the PQMEAL team, the Project Development & Implementation Coordinator, as well as other teams and support staff, as well as other colleagues based in Moldova, Poland, Romania, Denmark and Spain.
Tasks and Priorities
1. Advocacy (70%)
• Facilitate advocacy strategy development sessions with STAN leadership and youth teams to align organizational priorities.
• Support staff and youth facilitators to design and deliver evidence-based campaigns targeting local or national policy reform exploring the intersection of democracy building.
• Co-develop policy briefs and public statements with youth voices at the centre.
• Strengthen internal advocacy systems, including coordination, documentation, and M&E of influencing work.
• Guide stakeholder mapping and power analysis, connecting activism to structured policy engagement.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other civil society organizations and local partners to strengthen the impact of climate justice initiatives.
• Organize events and information sessions in partnership with local organizations to raise community awareness of climate challenges and possible solutions.
2.Communications (10%)
• Support communications and storytelling for advocacy, ensuring feminist and intersectional narratives are documented
3. External Representation and Engagement (20%)
• Provide mentorship for young people who have attended trainings at the GP
• Mentor and support young people in their creative campaigning and organising efforts at the GP youth hubs.
• Support specific learning and campaign activities coordinated by ActionAid or the GP
• Participate in knowledge sharing networks like the digital communities, especially focusing on Climate Justice, Feminism and Social Movements
• Attend cross-country knowledge exchange initiatives, especially focusing on Climate Justice.
• Personal training and development through induction courses and other training opportunities.

Who we're looking for:
• A university degree in a relevant discipline such law, economics, social sciences, political science, or similar.
• Strong background in advocacy, policy influencing, or civic participation programming.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting youth or feminist organizations to engage in structured advocacy and institutional dialogue.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting climate justice iniatitives, local and/or national.
• Skills in facilitation, organizational development, and participatory strategy design.
• Experience producing policy briefs, position papers, or advocacy toolkits.• Understanding of local governance, youth policy frameworks, and participatory decision making processes.
• Proficiency in English and Ukrainian.Personal qualifications:
• Strategic thinker who can bridge grassroots energy with institutional engagement.
• Confident facilitator who can translate complex policy issues into accessible learning for youth.
• Politically astute, values-driven, and comfortable navigating power and bureaucracy.

• Patient mentor and relationship-builder who values process as much as outcome.
