About the Organization
Medici per i Diritti Umani - MEDU is an international humanitarian organization committed to delivering quality health and mental health support to vulnerable populations affected by conflict and crisis. In Ukraine, we are implementing programs focused on primary healthcare, psychosocial support, and mental health services in both urban and rural areas affected by the ongoing conflict.
Role: LOGISTICIAN
Duty station: Dnipro with occasional trips to Mykolaiv and Kharkiv Oblasts.
Contract terms: 14-month continuous and coordinated collaboration agreement with a 3-month probationary period. FOP Contract
Salary: 1300-1500 EUROS - defined on the basis of the candidate's experience
Workoload: 35-40 hours per week

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
In collaboration with and under the supervision of the MEDU Project Coordinator, MEDU Administrator and MEDU Clinical Coordinator, the Logistician will:
- Manage the transfer of goods to beneficiaries and project partners.
- Manages relationships with local institutions and the local healthcare system (hospitals, clinics, outpatient facilities) and organizes needs assessment visits.
- Manage relationships with local beneficiary healthcare facilities and organize procurement and distribution of purchased goods.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and coordinate reception of deliveries to beneficiary healthcare facilities.
- Draft procurement plans, in particular for regular purchasing of drugs.
- Support the Project Coordinator and clinical coordinator in developing an expenditure plan and determining the need for goods, works and services to be procured; Determining the reasonable expected cost, selecting a procurement procedure, and forecasting procurement risks; Selecting the procurement procedure and justifying it; Preparing a list of requirements to the supplier, preparing relevant documentation, analyzing and selecting suppliers, maintaining a register of regular suppliers and adding new ones to this register.
- Support the Project Coordinator and clinical coordinator in drafting contracts based on the results of the procurement procedure.
- Collaborate with the clinical coordinator to periodically update the inventory of medicines for mobile clinics.
- Collaborate in ensuring the correct application of MEDU's and donors' procurement procedures.
- Ensure the proper management and archiving of documents and their distribution to the team.
- Ensure the management of computer devices necessary for project activities (PCs, printers, phones, etc.).
- Support the Project Coordinator in troubleshooting tax, administrative and bank relations and provision of documentation.
- Monitor changes in the legislative and regulatory support of the procurement system in Ukraine.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Social Sciences or International cooperation and development
- Minimum of one year of work experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Service - Understanding of logistics, inventory control, and supplier management to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Knowledge of relevant Ukrainian laws, donor guidelines, and ethical standards in procurement.
- Foreign languages: Working knowledge of English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Adherence to humanitarian action principles
- Demonstrates a sense of initiative and flexibility
- Driving license type B
- Availability to travel in the regions of Dnipro, Kharkiv and Mykolaiv
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Capacity to prioritize, adapt and thrive in stressful conditions
- Proficient in coordinating and organizing his own work-flow
- Possesses strong planning and contextual analysis skills
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural context
OTHER DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
- Previous work experience in war and emergency contexts
- Previous work experience with non-profit organizations in the socio-health or mental health field
- Knowledge of the Italian language is an asset
