Who are we?

DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish humanitarian, non-government and non-profit organisation working in Ukraine since 2022, with headquarters in Copenhagen. DCA has its main office Kyiv and a coordination hub in Lviv and field office in Mykolaiv. DCA implements various humanitarian interventions, primarily through partners, including cash assistance, WASH, Protection as well as Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA). The Ukraine programme currently employs around 60 national and international staff, with a fast-growing team and programme.

About the job:

DCA/NCA is looking for motivated Cash and Livelihoods Officer to join its Cash and Livelihood programme in south- and eastern Ukraine. She/he will contribute to the efficient and effective implementation of livelihood projects as part of the DCA/NCA Cash and Livelihood team based in Mykolaiv. His/her main responsibilities will be supporting the implementation of sectorial cash assistance and livelihood activities, including beneficiary identification, field monitoring, data collection and coordination with MEAL and Finance. The role ensures that activities follow organizational standards, donor requirements, and protection principles. 

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in project implementation with partners  

  • Supports household eligibility verification visits (direct and indirect implementation) 

  • Assists in preparing lists and documents for cash transfers under the supervision of cash transfer focal point  

  • Follows up with finance/partners to track payments in the absence of focal point  

  • Conducts and/or joins partner organizations for post-distribution monitoring and household visits 

  • Department’s focal point for complaints and feedback in close coordination with MEAL team 

  • Assist in reviewing candidates for business, employment or vocational training programs (when applicable) 

  • Focal point for collection documentation required for cash distributions  

  • Tracks procurement for in-kind modality (if applicable) 

  • Collect and enter beneficiary data accurately 

  • Focal point for department’s files  

  • Support MEAL in baseline/endline forms 

  • Support translation/interpretation during field visits or trainings (if needed) 

  • Represents the team professionally during field engagement 

  • Contributes to organization of capacity building events. 

  • Works closely with other departments in planning and implementation whenever relevant 

  • Develops and maintains good working relationship with partners 

  • Reports events and changes within the region that could have an impact on DCA/NCA’s activities, in particular in relation to Cash and Livelihood Programme which will allow to further formulate objectives and priorities. 

Requirements: 

  • University degree in the field of economics, agronomy or strong equivalent experience in the humanitarian field  

  • Minimum 1 year experience in food security & livelihoods and/or cash-based interventions 

  • Experience in an INGO or LNGO is a strong asset  

  • Project management experience is an advantage  

  • Professional working level in written and spoken English (advantage) and Ukrainian language is required 

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, ability to communicate effectively on culturally sensitive issues to diverse audiences. 

  • Ability to be proactive and work independently. 

  • Ability to operate in a high stress and unpredictable environment. 

  • Good knowledge of geographically assigned environment 

  • Good reporting capacity 

  • Good analytical skills: ability to process data and prepare reports 

  • Advanced computer literacy and confident user of MS Office 

  • Willingness to travel
