Project Description:

Alinea International has been contracted by the UK Government to establish a strategic communications support platform. This platform will support Ukraine government communications activities and priorities by assembling top talent in a format designed to meet the increased public demand for transparent communication caused by Russia’s illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

About the Work:

The Graphic Designer will ensure all activities are delivered in time and are appropriately documented. S/he is expected to work closely with the Social Strategist in Ukraine and participate in relevant project meetings and understand the intent of communications campaigns originating from state stakeholders. The broad scope under this position includes the following components:

The Role:

• Create original graphic communications content using various media, including digital and non-digital platforms, in collaboration with official stakeholders via their respective distribution channels.
• Produce and edit videos for key stakeholders, ensuring titles, subtitles, music, and other elements enhance the overall message.
• Amend/update/rework existing graphic communications content supplied by third parties to be optimized for a range of official distribution channels.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, assigning tasks related to design and video production, and ensuring adherence to brand style guidelines.
• Conduct research to develop official ’styles’ for cross-government communications content, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in conveying messages.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of cultural appropriation considerations, incorporating regional and political sensitivities into communications content design and creation.
• Adapt graphic materials to suit various formats for social media platforms, ensuring maximum impact and engagement.
• Collaborate with the Social Strategist to develop visually compelling content for digital platforms, aligning with overarching communication objectives.
• Create diverse types of digital designs, including infographics, quotes, announcements, presenations and other visual assets, to support communication goals effectively.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ or more years of professional experience as a Graphic Designer, Motion Designer, or related role within the industry.
• A portfolio of recent work that can be presented to a selection panel during the interview process. The portfolio should showcase your individual design and video work rather than collaborative efforts.
• Previous experience in strategic or government communications projects is advantageous, with demonstrated examples in your portfolio.
• Demonstrated initiative-taking attitude, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and project execution.
• Proficient in a range of digital design software.
• Have access to your own design kit and equipment.
• Great knowledge in Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Premiere Pro/Illustrator/Figma/Canva/etc. Programs.
• Understanding of creating viral designs and videos and experience in it will be an advantage.
• Evidence of education in graphic design or video would be an asset.
• Fluency in Ukrainian written and spoken, proficiency in English is desired.
