The Self-Service Platforms (SSP) department is responsible for the development, integration and management of several strategic cloud, automation and ITSM platforms.One of the main responsibilities is to provide a fully managed platform engineering eco system to run and scale cloud-native applications in the cloud or on-premises. It brings added-value features to complement OpenShift, making it a turnkey container platform as a service (PaaS) with a significantly improved developer experience.

Your new mission will be to:

• Become part of a dynamic team which continuously develops, extends, and improves the tool infrastructure in Erste Digital
• Bring your IT expertise to the design and administration of RedHat OpenShift/Kubernetes environments and to their operation, maintenance, further development and their integration into various on premise and cloud services
• Continuously improve the container platform with regard to changing technologies, security and customer requirements
• Develop and implement capacity management solutions for automatic resource optimization in a hybrid cloud environment
• Monitor products and infrastructure services using state of the art technologies like Prometheus & Grafana

We will appreciate if you:

• Have an experience in Linux and practice in the field of container platforms, preferably in Red Hat OpenShift and/or Kubernetes
• Are ideally proficient in at least one programming or scripting language, such as e.g. JavaScript, Go, Bash
• By a chance touched any of these: Terraform, hybrid cloud concepts, IaC (Infrastructure as code) and GitOps
• Have also knowledge of modern architectures and advantageously one cloud environment with container orchestration and interest in cloud/container systems/technologies
• Have excellent problem-solving skills and a sense for the right balance between pragmatism and perfectionism
• Have already worked with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus and Loki (advantage)
• Are a team player who likes to work in agile teams taking full responsibility for defined tasks
• Are able to communicate fluently in English (both written and spoken), German is an advantage
