Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF – Doctors Without Borders) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, healthcare exclusion and natural or man-made disasters to populations in danger in more than 70 countries.

Workplace:
This is a mobile position based in Kyiv coordination office and to travel to different locations.
Main purpose:
Providing psychological support according to MSF principles, standards and procedures to individuals and communities affected by winter-related emergency in Kyiv, including extreme cold, power outages, isolation, displacement, and medical service disruption, with a focus on vulnerable populations (elderly, persons with
disabilities, medically vulnerable individuals, IDPs and isolated households), in order to improve their mental health.
Context Specific Accountabilities
- The Psychologist will provide mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) as part of a multidisciplinary emergency response team.
- Provide individual and group psychosocial support and Psychological First Aid
- Conduct rapid psychological assessments and identify high-risk cases
- Support individuals affected by winter-related stress, anxiety, grief, trauma or isolation related to winter conditions
- Refer complex cases through established MHPSS, medical, and protection referral pathways
- Identifying possible victims of SGBV and referring them to medical services so that they receive the necessary treatment.
- Integrate MHPSS activities into winter assessments, outreach, shelters, collective centers, and warming “invincibility” points
- Coordinate with social workers, medical teams, and emergency response partners
- Collect, record, and manage data about MHPSS activities, and case files in a timely manner, in compliance with data protection policies, MSF ethical guidelines, and applicable legal standards.
- Maintain documentation and contribute to weekly situation reports (SitReps) and medical activity reports
- Ensuring that all patient information is kept confidential.
Education
- Essential degree in Psychology (Masters or higher) Valid license/certification (as applicable in Ukraine)
Experience
- Essential 2 years’ experience minimum as a Psychologist (clinical)
- Desirable previous experience with MSF or other NGO
- Training in PFA or crisis intervention
Languages
- Essential English and Ukrainian

- Desirable computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

Monthly gross salary 66 000 UAH.
